T20 :: Durham v Nottinghamshire - **LIVE ON SKY**

You’ve summed it as I read tonight’s game

Thanks ;).

Looking at recent history, 15 points usually ensures a place in the Quarter Final stage, only once in 7 years has 15 points not been enough (couple of seasons where 14 was enough).

Fixtures wise, Derbyshire and Worcestershire are the two teams we only play once, typically that’s one team who are 0-3 and another who were the only team with an inferior record to us in 2022

As my winning run has now come to an end, I’ve decided to offer my resignation as thread captain for the remainder of the competition in the interest of the betterment of the teams fortunes…

I’m an extremely petty person

But am I the only one annoyed he was watching this rather than Durham

Kind of sums up where the game is now

How you mean?

I’d like a young bowler there in and play beds
I found it bizarre that they were showing the IPL In the members lounge. I didn't see one person taking an interest

Fear ultimately the lack of pace bowling control will hurt. Normally we would have the wicket taking options of Potts, Coggers and Carse.

In the last 2 matches our opinion bowling has been off line and length and smashed. Before the spinners and Raine have dragged us back.

For me the most annoying thing about last night was Turners brain fade. I had just turned to my dad and said nothing daft in Mullaneys last over and go in the last 5

Then caught at long off knowing full well you can’t miss hit a 6 at ours for some an experienced player thought it was so poor.

Hope we get on top but at least we are competing this season so far.

Its hard to say, it felt really full as that was closed, it was a good crowd for Durham

I am constantly frustrated we dont have more support in the area considering how many footy fans we have, for both sides, but probs not best going there

Felt like an event to me, and I really enjoyed it.
Agreed. One County team in the NE which has a population of what? 2 million? Durham should be better supported.

Well look at colly. He hasn’t shown his face at the ground or even posted anything in support of Durham since before he left... local lad forgetting his roots .

Weird one Collingwood. I remember taking the dogs abuse on here yonks back when I said he wasn't interested in Durham, at times preferring the golf course than to play in games for Durham (this before he retired from England) and all of a sudden he was back with Durham as England was over and to be fair he was superb with Durham as basically that's all he had left. Certain club legends were tossed aside to accommodate him. Since he left the club, as you say hardly seen him, I find that all very strange to be honest.

Harmison far worse mind, haven't got the time for him at all.

It is what it is I guess

Said this for years also. Very affordable to watch Durham.

Cricket is just nowhere near as popular as cricket I had a season ticket for years. Used to go with my granddad and best mate. My granddad passed my best mate moved to oz.

None of my mates are into cricket so hardly been to the ground last couple of years.

I agree yeah. I’m from Chester le street mate, went to school walking distance from the ground and I can count on one hand the people I know who like cricket

Is it because football dominates so much?

I dunno, I thought Durham put on a great show on Monday night and really hope some tell their mates and come back

We have a cracking league system that produces loads of players too like. It’s a weird contrast
Never. He knows he’d take flak because of the state the ground is in and the team. Still using the trapdoor stand

It’s still a plus he’s chairman in my view.

Yeah we are very similar, I just go as I work from home anyway so spending time by myself is no worries!

got few mates who will watch ashes but not loads

I’m not sure how anyone can criticise colly?

He played in for Durham for 5 years after England retiring into his 40s and captained a team full of local lads to s county championship

Haway man! What more do people want?

He really hasn’t. Absolute legend colly. Probs our best ever player. Played for Durham for 25 years, was at our first ever game as a first class county

I’d be there more often but it’s a bit of a chew on to get to from Sunderland for me. Can’t drive if I want a drink. Taxi/Uber will cost 20/25 quid each way. There’s only the bus isn’t there which gets you close enough to the ground, and that takes about 50 mins

Aye spot on, the lack of transport to Sunderland from Durham in general is a joke

I can’t blame you at all.

Is the expensive-but-nice mobile craft beer bar back behind the County Durham stand this year?
yes still there, They had my Favourite Clwb Tropica on draft last year but the guy said cos it was 6% durham made them put the price up, its now £7 a pint for most of them, so just went with a neck oil from the sticky wicket

it's an utterly crap location let's be honest. unless you live in chester le street which isn't a big enough place to support a decent sized crowd wandering in you just aren't going to get the same numbers or atmosphere as a ground people can walk to from the city centre, out of the pubs and what not.

Think that’s harsh like. It’s absolutely no problem from Durham city centre like. Remember it is Durham CCC
