T20 - Parking tomorrow - cheaper online

Bossworld

Winger
Imagine it'll be busy with it being a bank holiday but they've upped parking to £5 unless you buy in advance for £3 online.

(Caution - website seems to flag a security warning but seems legit given it's their own site).

Thatll be inside the ground I think ?

over the road , parking on the grass used to be about £3 for a game . Get early though as I think there will be a canny crowd

Thinking about going to this tomorrow. Any advice on what time it’s likely to finish? Was going to take the bairn but not sure if it’ll be too late??

Also, looking at seats only “unreserved” available on the website so will they be any good??

Ground will be half full at best just rock up and sit anywhere. Half full will be a good crowd btw.

Of course it is as if it rains you have paid for parking in advance.

Seriously need to get myself involved in this scam.

No - this is for the car park opposite. Now £5 to park on the day, £3 if you buy an advance pass online.

I did say “used to”. I’ve not been for a few years and parked. The mrs drops me off then picks me up post match

Seems they've got off to an OK start this season which will help.

But when we've had season cards the last couple of years, if it's a lost cause we've bailed early as it makes for a much quicker getaway especially if its a later finish. Someone please correct me if I'm misremembering but it's usually around 2 hrs 15, 2 hours 30 from the first ball being bowled?

Depends on the age of your kids but they had a family zone last year with a bunch of games they could get involved in and play before the game and during the changeover. Expect to get fleeced for chips and ice cream

Will finish about 9.15pm.

You can basically sit anywhere you want...except for the fearsome Members Balcony.

 I wandered onto there a few years back. It’s gladiatorial to get a seat in there unless you were there when it was just a field and had a tent pitched
Cheers marra
Re your kid mate, if you hang around post match, you can go on the field and all the players come out for a chat, autographs and pictures with the kids and adults to be fair

that’s in front of the don robson which is the main stand where the changing rooms are

There’s a new (refurbished) family zone in the Co Durham stand. The kids area behind the DRP is now the ‘ fan zone’.

They had bother with the website yesterday.

Thanks for the thread purchased my pass and tickets this morning.

Surely we don't need to print out e-tickets when the barcode can be scanned on a phone. Can anyone confirm on this?

Albeit this appears to be new territory for this season? Knowing us it will be faff if not.

Surely the only reason we don't work from home all the time is for free printing

Just tell them you've heard the club have decided to freeze the prices of a cuppa - that should pacify them. Under no circumstances tell them you're a member of The Co Durham Upper Barmy Army

They've never been the same since Jamie took their home territory on the 2nd day of the Worcs game.

The halcyon days of a free ream of A4 paper

On the original link it says

"Advanced purchases of car parking passes can be printed at home or downloaded to your phone to make your arrival smoother at the ground."

I seem to recall you needed cash for parking last year as they had no means of taking card, yet inside the ground all concessions were card only (unless I'm mixing the SoL and buying a programme, it's been a long old season).

I would be stunned if the parking attendants had any kind of digital device so presumably if you don't have a print out, they will give you one of the little scraps of paper to put in your windscreen once you show them your paid parking?

That’s right. It was advertised that they could take cards for the car park, but the machines didn’t materialise, so it was cash. I’ve printed my car park pass this time.

Never used that car park out of principle. Over £4 all day yet it's £1.10 all day in the town and on a Sunday it's free in the town yet full price at said car park which I think is naughty of the council. I'll be parking up near the hospital and walking down far easier and quicker

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m currently assuming they can scan my phone, but it should be clearer.

Says can be downloaded which obviously once you open the pdf that is downloaded.

But in the world where you can put stuff in Google/apple wallets not quite the same.

However I got into a festival in London and saw red hot chillis at West Ham's gaff via the same method so I'd like to think it will be fine for a smaller attended event.
