Tony Mowbray

Of course there isn’t but theres also no guarantee Mowbray can improve us from here. Look at his time at Blackburn. I am all for giving Mowbray another season rather than unnecessary risk but if an option comes up that we deem a better coach who can take us to the next level we should take it. In the exact same way we would for any player.
Do you think the names mentioned are the right people ?

I have no idea, however I have thought that about 90% of our signings under speakman. It was more of a general point in fairness rather than specifically the main name or 2 that have been linked, as I don’t think any of us know if they are any good.

And if we're languishing in the bottom half with team spirit vanished and a foreign manager whose never worked in this country in charge? It works both ways. Its a big risk. They may well be ruthless, but so are Watford and its not gone well for them being ruthless. We've had no stability in a long time and I fear the rollercoaster ride will start to dip again.
Fear is totally understandable. I’m fearing exactly the same. However I want the club to be single-minded in their pursuit of talent wherever they can find it. That’s as true of managers as it is of players. It’s just much more of a high-wire act.

It feels a bit like the Malcolm Crosby situation to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing Mowbray with Crosby in terms of managerial ability or experience. I mean there doesn't seem much enthusiasm coming from the boardroom for what he’s achieved.

Personally I think Mowbray deserves a decent shot at the job. He certainly doesn't deserve to start the season with KLD and Speakman biding their time to pull the trigger. That suits nobody. It really is a back him or sack him moment.

Seems like he has built a genuine connection with the fans, that shouldn't be underestimated, it can be powerful.

He is a good championship manager, his teams often have the same issue - a soft centre. Given the type of player he was that is quite a shock but at Boro we played good stuff and he built a good team that basically got promoted under Karanka. Karanka toughened us up.

There are of course better coaches out there than Mowbray but character fit the right experience all add to the mix. We need not gamble too big if we make a change.

We will all
now in the coming day's

Changing gaffers now would be criminally negligent IMO. Tony has proved he's the right man for this team.
