He was totally shot last summer with boult and Southee. They didn’t really celebrate getting him by the end. It’s beyond obvious that starc will bowl in swingers for lbw or bowled and hazlewood will just bang it down on fifth stump for the inevitable edge to second slip

Can see why they'd want Bairstow back but so harsh on Foakes, they really should have dropped Crawley and had Bairstow or Pope open, particularly given they are intent on this uber-attacking approach.

I made my points pretty clear mind. Bairstow n Brook are superstars in the middle order and should not be asked to open. Simple as that.
They left foakes out in Pakistan, I’m a bit mystified by the outrage.
Stokes picks the team, he’s in charge, he’s won 10 out of 12 , he knows what he’s doing.
It’s just my opinion, that’s all

Why also are you falsely equating this as either Bairstow or Foakes? Why is it one v one? Can’t they both be in the team?

Bairstows mobility at the Riverside wasn’t great.
Feel sorry for Foakes. Crawley is a disgrace and I think Stokes’s knee is actually unfortunately career threatening and I think any contribution by him on the field will be severely limited

The controversy is Crawley has been shocking the best imo was to bring back Bairstow into the side keep Foakes and move another player up to open.
Bairstow had to come back in imo too good not too
