Attendance Thread - Watford

So if we do go up, and it's a big game that everyone wants to go to next season, due to how the away are seated, we could have a couple of thousand empty seats at the front of the top tier and people will miss out.

That was still the case when the away fans were in the bottom half. You also need turnstile and concourse segregation.

If you get a big away following which for arguments sake leaves P23 along to P35 empty, I make that about 825 seats total not being used.

I've got vague recollections of a game v the Mags where there was just a line of police down one of the staircases in the south stand, and that was as much segregation as there was.

Can anyone confirm that?

Given Watford have a 2,000 allocation spread across the back half of the tier, what blocks can still be opened without compromising segregation?

Probably right round to P20?

The Richardson 2-1 game I think was like that. There was hell on, fans fighting behind the goal as the match was playing, so the police learned their lesson and it never happened again.

Ah I couldn't recall the bother

I was only sitting in the SW anarl so no idea how I missed it.

I hope that for this game the whole ground stays till the full-time whistle, regardless of the score.

Even if we lose the next two games the season has been the best in probably a decade all things considered, youngest squad, newly promoted, depleted by injuries and surpassing all realistic expectations. They deserve a round of applause after the game , win lose or draw

I hope that maybe the fans groups social media come out with some 'staying till the end' patter

I was in the SWC and I remember it, was right behind the goal either on the pitch or behind the barriers, sunderland fans celebrating jumping over the barrier and mags coming over to meet them, was class , the whole ground was utter chaos didn't know where to look..think there were mags in the boxes and also in the west stand cooperate seats just seemed to be kicks off all owa .. glory days

100% this , the whole ground belting out ‘sing your hearts out for the lads’ would be fitting, regardless of the result

Honestly it's a strange feeling, we could genuinely lose the next two games and I'd come away from Preston still quite happy. Everything from here is a bonus.. that result and performance on Sunday has rubber stamped this season as a major turning point, we used to always lose games like that.. the goals we score and the way we defend like our lives depend on it is a joy to watch.

If we lose the next two I'd still give the season as solid 8/10

Yeah you would like to think we will get a good majority staying back, especially if we can win the game, least they deserve after this season.

I can remember mags in the boxes behind the SWC like, never seen as many coins getting hoyed

I was really taken aback by Sundays result , we all know there’s huge talent in the squad but the fight they showed felt like a turning point that there’s something happening, but whatever happens I couldn’t be prouder of this group of players
Goosebumps
