Attendance Thread - Watford

And by pushing it on social media, you'll sell more for it.

Do you reckon we would have sold 46k on boxing day v Bradford if Methven hasn't basically made it his goal to break the attendance record for that level, and they weren't posting the barometer on social media everyday?
No I think you are talking a load of shite.
Boxing Day games are tradition man.

So why did we only sell 33k for the boxing day game the following season? Which was only an additional 3,200 or so more than the previous home game. Compared to the Bradford game which was 17k more than the previous home game.

That didn't sell out because we were playing abysmally for weeks and weeks prior if memory serves me right

The way they've sold today. It could be higher. That's if they open the blocks up. It's like they don't want a sell out 🤣
Hopefully a few big social media releases later today or tomorrow.

We need to get 49k in there if poss and have the place bouncing. Most important home game in yonks.

13,000 is a bloody massive difference still.

Even the boxing day game this season didn't hit the Bradford attendance.

They pushed it as much as possible on social media, as a result we ended up with the campaign where people were buying tickets for others, and we've not had an attendance that big since.

Those blocks have pretty much sold already since they went on sale this morning, with plenty saying they are waiting for the middle blocks to buy.
Proper amateur hour again by the club now.

Open the lot, give the option for concessions in the corner.
And for gods sake, say something about the upcoming mega game we have

Earlier: "Not being funny, but this is the biggest game of the season.
Our young team are fighting like warriors in a tough league and have surpassed all expectations... if people are put off coming because not all blocks are opened at the same time, they can piss off for good IMO".

Four pages later: "Those blocks have pretty much sold already since they went on sale this morning, with plenty saying they are waiting for the middle blocks to buy.

Parkinson was manager then if my dates are correct. That explains a big chunk of it. We were playing turgid footy as you say. At least the year before (at the point of boxing day) auto promotion looked fairly likely.

Stadium doesn't even hold 49,000. Dunno why people say that. It's more like 47,800 these days. Especially since they put all them media things at the back of the Premier Concourse. I'd say 47,000 is a sell out these days. Especially with segregation etc. Buy yes I agree its a massive game and needs a massive crowd. And everyone who attends needs to be loud and proud to show this young team we appreciate what they've done this season.

1 random seat opened up in East stand so nabbed it for a mate who was after a lower bowl ticket.

Why are random ones dropping back, people keeping them in baskets or something then timing out?

So Boxing Day games are tradition, but only if we're doing well?

The social media aspect had a massive part to play in that game, and they should be doing similar again this week.
