The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Haven't read through this since yesterday. But seeing as it's tea time on the Monday, I'm just wondering if anyone has a link to thr club statement? Given its obviously bound to be their absolute priority today.

Unbelievable that there's nothing been said given there's a home game tomorrow.
Be interested to know if Huddersfield are on the list of clubs they deem it necessary to carry out the searches for, given that Stoke fan suggesting they don't always bother.

No comment on how it is going to protect its fans in upcoming games. Makes it sound like a one off incident.

Thanks - sorry must have missed it

Statement is suitably tough

Hope the moron responsible has the book well and truly thrown at them
Suitably tough in what way?

No acknowledgement that fans safety in lower tier is being put at risk, no details on what they plan to do further to stop this from happening..... Essentially sit in the North Lower and take your chances of being hit with something.

Tough on the prospect of an actual prosecution taking place

I have been almost as annoyed that somehow people have been getting away with launching glass bottles, pyrotechnics (x2), vapes, phone chargers, coins etc etc yet nobody caught and charged

If they have got the twat who chucked the latest one good - throw the f’ing book at him

Of course what the Statement does not cover is what the club are now going to do to protect fans in the North Lower Stand from anymore missiles raining down on them

Obviously the search policy is not working, nor is the steward presence stopping it

So what next Mr Davison?

They'll condemn it until the next time then they'll copy and paste that statement. Means fuck all that
means nothing. Dont understand it. people have been saying that the club have done nothing, dont care etc.

yet here it is, They have identified the offenders location and will have liaised with both northumbria (as offence happened in their area) and west midlands police (as likely offender lives in their area) and likely BCFC.
They will one way or another identify those responsible. It wont be long before offender is arrested
That is not exactly nothing.

Explain how all of that stops a Huddersfield fan chucking something down into the lower tier?

That is retrospective action, not preventative. The preventative action that has been taken to date is minimal and has been ineffective. What good would it have been to anyone if they’d actually been hit? Only fortune has prevented that.

Complaining to the council will have more effect then complaining to the club. They don’t give a toss about us
This. They issue the safety certificate and if fans safety isn't being guaranteed then they need to get involved.
Blues fans saying they had light searching or none at all on Saturday, and this happens. Piss poor from the club again off the pitch.

Exactly. I'm sure it'll be great comfort to someone leaving the match with half their head missing.

any protection for home fans by means of a barrier is likely to need the consent of safety council and at a guess, some sort of planning permission or permission from building control.
I wonder what permission will be needed from the EFL if any.

I can imagine they will need to set out, what actions they have already done and that the barriers are as a last resort

This may actually result in the lad getting named publicly.. and him getting brayed all owa next time we play them

If the club isn't doing all they can to protect fan safety they should have the safety cert removed until they can, or reduce away fans allocation to around 500.
