The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Looks shite if we have a net. All the European grounds with them look terrible. Be a sad day when away fans have to watch games through a net

Will be a sad day when someone’s bairn is scarred for life with third degree burns.

Don’t disagree. In fact I’d love to know what the safety committee will say tomorrow.

If something comes down on Tuesday, there will be hell on mind. A lot of folk near me are f***ing sick of it.

When you say hell on, like what ? There's nowt anyone can do unless everyone waits behind after and smacks every single Huddersfield fan all owa.

What else could hell on be ? Fight the stewards? Pile into the board room ?

There won't be hell on. Loads of gadgies will shout at 8 stone stewards 'to bloody do something ' and point angrily at the away end

There's nowt else we can do. Or try and lob something back up

If preventative measures were better it wouldn’t get to that stage.

But it's already been stated that it is thought young un's are bringing stuff in.
The club have stated on more than one occasion they are upping the searching and it hasn't stopped whatsoever.

Tough shit, nets up or move them, one of those pyros hits me or my family I'm suing the club, they've said there are appropriate measures in place which has been proven to be bollox.
Or improve the measures. Be nice if our police force we pay tax for did something

I find it bizarre when Northumbria take the game seriously, like Boro, nothing seems to happen. If they did their jobs it would be very rare.

Agreed the "searching" was a joke. I was waved into the "no coins" queue as I said I had no coins or vapes when they asked and no one even checked!
Very much worth bumping this thread from our resident Hull fan. Quite obvious that even the measures they've put in place aren't being stringently applied. It's absolutely no wonder that stuff is still getting in, and still being flung. You can't tell by looking at someone if they need to be searched, and we can't expect them to literally search every fan. So, if the away fans are staying where they are, which we know they need to for at least the next season, there simply has to be a net or similar in place.

£50,000 is what’s quoted in the RAWA minutes from the club. Absolute peanuts in the scheme of things

I don’t sit far enough back to have experienced any coin issues, and I’m not downplaying that at all, but the smoke bombs and a glass bottle and a dart are much more serious issues. These are items that, from that height, could easily kill off r seriously injury someone if they are hit in the wrong place
I could be wrong here, but I'm sure the actual figure we were quoted for a net was £15k , not £50k, somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, so if it's actually 15grand, I'm sure we ( this board) could arrange to crowdfund this cost, if only to shame the club into funding it, with the right publicity and media pressure it's got to be worth a try surely ?
