The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

I've emailed today and I emailed the last home game it happened. I got no response previously
I usually wait until late Monday or Tuesday and send it. Mostly because I’d prefer to be calm and professional, so do it from my works email account. Also the work phones are voice recorded so anything he says is recorded and admissible in court if I or anyone else need it in the future. Probably doesn’t get lost in a pile of emails over the weekend. Tbf to him he has replied every time I’ve contacted him (must be 6-7 times now). Even if his replies are utter bollocks, full of platitudes and fake concern and promises that never happen.

Was told 3 weeks ago he was going to stop the game if it happened again. It’s happened twice since. He’s even more full of bollocks that than Waters idiot the club employs tbh.

You have my greatest sympathy with your kid being there - I’ve got a girl the same age who was there too (and was there for the Coventry 5-4) and it’s horrible feeling that way around your kid.

I know what yer saying but cancelling DD’s is just gonna end up causing more angst and frustration for fans, especially when the ticket office are off the scale useless.
All of the fans groups, fanzines, podcasts need to get there’re heads together and come up with a synchronise plan to embarrass the club into doing something. They plainly aren’t listening using the current lines of communications and dialogue.

Emailed him after the glass bottle incident at the Coventry match.
Reply was just meaningless corporate stuff saying we're taking it seriously and we'll do something about it..... Fast forward and it's still happening.

Hull match and a week later same again....not acceptable

Then they need to be jailed when (not if) someone is hurt. They've had numerous warnings.

Aye when he's actually telling you he's going to stop the game, and then go back on his word, it's not on in any way you look at it.. The club are actively putting their own fans in harms way and doing absolutely nothing about it. As wrong as it is, if I didn't have kids, and obviously you bring yours, but wouldn't boil my piss as much without our own kids to worry about.

That is the one good thing about the HSE. They can and will prosecute. And they will prosecute individuals with safety related authority, which in this instance would be Steve Neil, separate to the club too.

That’s why, if what he’s claiming about the club not releasing funds for a net is true, he should be resigning. As it’s his neck on the line. And that’s precisely why I know he’s talking absolute bollocks, as no one would leave themselves open to a prosecution in such a manner.

Sadly to do this the HSE also need someone to get hurt or killed first…

Bringing your kids changes the game completely mate. I’m daft enough to risk myself getting hit and get on with it - my kid isn’t

The club have left themselves in the position where leaving the away fans where they are is no longer an option. I fully expect there to be a statement on Monday with what they plan to do about it.

I was told it was a good thing if I chose not to renew as it would mean I'd stop clamouring for the Aways to be put in the south stand, but this genuinely is it for me. I've renewed obviously but whether I cancel my dd all boils down to the clubs next steps in the matter. A kid in a wheelchair today man, he must have been terrified. I'm devastated for the lad, and embarrassed by the club.

I don’t get it, the cameras in the roof are supposed to be so sophisticated they can see each and every person in a crowd so why isn’t this footage being passed on to the police
It’s all a load of bullshit spouted by the club. There’s been countless instances of it happening and nobody has been arrested. The club have lied for 5 years about this.

All comes down to them being tight as Fuck and won’t pay for a net, won’t pay for good enough cameras, won’t pay for a big police presence, won’t pay for someone to look through the camera footage.

Surely can’t be done now? Payments made, direct debit agreements made … it’s possible but would be a bureaucratic headache that I can’t see the football club making. They even make it difficult for technophobes to purchase a ticket.
I think the intent is to bring the issue back into the limelight (is that really the phrase? Sounds wrong) for the club, not specifically to move the away fans tomorrow. It needs to be reviewed and not whitewashed by the club. I won’t be mind, and I’m sure Huddersfield will be as good as gold and it’ll all be forgotten in the next few days

The club can’t be allowed to put this back onto Sunderland fans at the next meeting like they have in every other instance. Time for the people in these meetings to actually step up to the plate and take Davison to account for running us like a Sunday morning club.
