The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

So you failed to understand then.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Thick as mince pet
It's you that's not getting it, and doesn't even impact you it seems so your opinion is irrelevant.
You are on a thread like this fishing for bites - it’s absolutely pathetic. Get on ignore you muppet.
He's just on a wind up.... Aye hoy him on mute.

It's not going to happen. I've just told you it's apparently been rejected by the council and police. Like somebody else also posted.... trouble is allegedly down 60% since they moved.

People need to accept they aren't going back in the south stand.
Why have you put Apparently in your sentence when your sure (it's not going to happen).

Do you know for definite or not.

I guess the reason why people are getting wound up is neither a net or Perspex is showing any likelihood of being installed

Now for two matches in a row smoke bombs have been hurled towards Sunderland supporters 100ft below - and that includes kids and people in wheelchairs

Amongst many other missiles apparently

Nobody appears to have been held responsible

And yet you are having a pop at fellow fans instead of those with responsibility for sorting this at the club?

Why?

So, I’ll go back to the original angst from tonight, the bellends crying to move aways back to the south, it’s clearly not happening and never will due to a huge variety of reasons.
Now, you and a few others have taken this as tho I’m having a pop at the fans unhappy at stuff reigning down, it’s not and never has been. A few north stand temperatures are running high and popping me purely because I don’t think the fans should be moved. I’ve given my thoughts on this thread months ago and again tonight. A Perspex screen if not a net.
If a few want to blame me for the club’s ineptitude then they can crack on, I’ll sleep fine.
However, people need to move on from the south stand being an away location.

People in the meetings have posted the reasons why. I've put apparently because it's their info from being present and not my own.

The possibility of them going back to the south stand seems to be nil. They need to come up with something else or a net.

The club need to act, absolutely. But people need to forget about the south stand imo.

Ajax have one. Think it just goes from the barrier to the roof, so effectively keeps the away fans behind a barrier, thus making throwing things down physically impossible.

The HSE cites an ALARP principle to dictating what is justified in safety concerns like this - if an option is excluded purely on a cost basis then that cannot be justified in the eyes of the law.
It's only about 15 feet, but it seems to do the job.

You create the impression that you are more concerned about who sits in the South Stand than whether kids and people in wheelchairs are being hit by bottles, power banks, vapes, smoke bombs thrown by away fans at the other end of our ground?

From my seat in the East Stand sucking my Werthers Originals under a tartan blanket this seems an odd prioritisation.

How do you definitely be "trouble"? Arrests? Incidents? Injuries?

Because since they've been above me, there has been an infinite increase in shite being thrown down on us from above. Not that it shows up in arrest statistics, because the stewards, the coppers and the owners don't seem to give a shit.

It's not me but thought I'd post it, will probs get merged

Worth a sticky I would have thought

Read the whole thread, it’s being going on for months I’ve said all along my solution.
I’m literally bored to tears with it and the club for doing fuck all.
But the same posters on repeat crying about putting fans in the south stand when it’s clearly not going to happen it what ive called out on.
I suggest reading the thread in context and fully before assuming what I prioritise. 👍

I have read the thread throughout - and commented at various points

Yes we agree that something EFFECTIVE needs to be done

And actually I think very few people are saying “put the away fans back at the other end of the ground” - a few but by no means the majority.

What we need to make clear as a united group of fans is that the current dangerous nonsense in the north stand has to stop

And stop now - and half arsed searches and tannoy announcements don’t count as a solution

No shambles at all, I’ll stick to my original supposition many months ago that Perspex or a net needs to be installed.

Now off you pop and have a glass of wine, get that blood pressure of yours down.

Read the posts in context ya crying fanny.
If you can’t do that, let me know and I’ll type it out in correlation for you to understand, seen as yer a being a bit dramatic and misreading what’s been written.
Reading a lot if your replies you are a very angry person uf people don't agree with you, calm down we all agree move them end off

Far less trouble and increased risk of a fan in the North Lower being seriously injured.... I'll just take the club are happy with that risk then.

Say again at the Coventry match a fan could have been killed if the glass bottle had struck them on the head. Nothing was made of it in general, and it's been swept under the carpet. Shit show from the club and people making these decisions.

Not saying not to do anything but moving the fans to the South Stand won't fix that issue.

They could launch a glass bottle from the South Stand about 10m into someone's head and have a massive chance of hitting someone if they were over there. Not to mention some of our idiotic support could do the same in return.

The problem is why they have a glass bottle, or smoke bombs etc.

If there was a net up they'd arguably be actually better up there.

The SAG claimed that trouble (im assuming arrests/reoorts of crime) was down 60% compared to when they were in the SS.

I concur and it was aimed at the same posters bumping their gums about the move, one of which I replied too before the northenders starting having hissy fits.

Behave, angry 😂👍

Surely can’t be done now? Payments made, direct debit agreements made … it’s possible but would be a bureaucratic headache that I can’t see the football club making. They even make it difficult for technophobes to purchase a ticket.

His point though is nobody seems to have been arrested for throwing either of the smoke bombs at Hull and Birmingham, the bottle at Coventry or any of the other random objects raining down on what seems like a regular basis now

The tannoy announcement to avoid throwing things please is clearer, true

Think it should be signed by those who feel strongly about it if nothing more than to embarrass the club and bring them to account
