I think it is also worth thinking about whether RAWA etc should seek legal advice and draft a formal letter with a law firm to the club spelling out supporters’ concerns

That might concentrate a few minds

I remember talking to the head of security (or whatever) after the Coventry debacle and he said it would never happen again.

Same shite, still a problem. Even some of our own supporters won’t entertain putting them back where they used to be.

Surely will cost the club even more if someone gets hurt and takes them to task on it?
 
Do we know how much a net would cost?

If it's achievable through a GoFundMe, it would make the board look pathetic when it's shown that the fans have to buy their own net to protect their safety.

I was told that in the event a smoke bomb was thrown, the game would be stopped (which tbf happened against Pompey). Today that didn’t happen. It’s almost like the club don’t want the negative attention
 
I feel the police are getting away with not doing their jobs here.

High resolution CCTV is not difficult to install.

Require ID for booking away tickets.

Clearly inform visiting fans they will be prosecuted as harshly as the law allows if they are caught throwing stuff over the top.

If the law is too lenient, petitions should be made to change the law.
 
This has obviously become a major problem but I find it strange that it’s only really came to a head the last 2 or 3 years when the away fans have been up there a while. At a guess 10 years now? I suppose pyro is more readily available now mind and I think the social media generation will do anything to fuel their narcissistic egos.

To look at the other side of the argument I saw a photo the other week of patto in a cloud of red smoke which had came on from our end and it looked class in terms of a photo but in reality it’s dick behaviour. So we need to get our own house in order too.

Also, there was plenty on here who found it hilarious when that disabled mag got hit at SJP, so we can’t have it both ways especially on here.

Not trying to stir the pot, just make some imo valid comments.

Anyway, I agree I think the club needs to go down the net or screen option. The one I saw at sheff united wouldn’t really work here as it would need to project quite a way. Something vertical would be better but it needs to stop projectiles yet not punish fans who behave.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. What about the second one that stayed up there? Did it split into a second smoke bomb immediately before jumping off the stand itself?

Cctv ans booking stuff would be the clubs responsibility not the police surely

Getting daft now. Doesn’t happen every game but enough where greater consideration must be taken.

Pretty sure you’re not allowed to have supporters above like that in the Premier League either, with Newcastle being the exception.

What gets me is, why don't those compromised, by this group toghther and do that very said thing, legal action, the club will sharp take notice, if a group decides to hit them with a law suit.

Anyone that found it hilarious on here that a disabled mag got hit needs their own head examining too. And anyone of our fans doing it needs banning too

That said, there is a world of difference chucking something onto an empty area of pitch from 5 rows back and chucking something into hundreds of kids from 100 foot in the air

Then that's NP/CPS being weak as fuck. Chucking a smoke bomb should bring a number of charges, especially in the situation we're talking about.

Lawsuit for what? Nothings happened yet, luckily for the club and fans. With the way the British legal system works there’s nothing we can do until someone gets injured

I agree entirely and the main question I’ve asked of Steve Neil multiple times. I suspect it’s because the fan will agree to a banning order without the need for evidence and a court appearance and that all fiasco and it’s an easy life for the police

Totally agree. We need to self police it if any come from our end. I’d have no qualms dragging a little scroate to the coppers if he set one off next to me and my 80 year old nan. Have no qualms about giving them a kicking either tbf
