Club are looking to extend the stadium

How's it horseplop?

We were only in League One for 4 years man. I never mentioned League One, although I did make reference to 10 years ago.

When was the last time we sold out for even 3 league games in a row?

We were at the top table for an uninterrupted decade. Did it ever happen in that time? I don't actually know if it did, hence the question.

If not that time, then when?
The last 10 seasons have been the worst in our entire history, 2 relegations (back to back) 4 seasons in league one, and currently a mid table championship club.
You expect us to sell out a 48k stadium regularly ffs.
Like I said absolute horseshit.

I don't expect us to sell out a 48k stadium.

As I said, it's too big. :D

I look at it this way. We’ve been shite for 10 seasons and still have far bigger crowds than Premier league clubs like Leicester. What crowds would most clubs get if they had the same 10 years as us?
If and it’s a big if, with more success we could expand to meet the demand. We have a huge fan base outside of the North East.

Have a look at Leeds, Aston Villa, Forest, Newcastle (10k free and loads of empty seats in their Championship seasons) etc,etc....over the past 10 year and answer me this.

Are their grounds to big for them?🤔

Ive got an inkling that your a small minded pencil dicked tnuc who is just making shit up!How on earth do we get to 72000 when extending the north and east stand only gets it to 63500?
English get yourself back to school and 63500🤥

Why do mags always jump on threads like this. What’s their motivation outnumbered on the board and still trying to wind people up It’s like its forbidden to discuss/debate amongst ourselves. The ones pretending to be Sunderland anarl WTF .

Are they regularly selling out? I'm not particularly fussed about what they're up to TBH.

And TBH I'm not particularly fussed about us having empty seats - that's not going to change, as our stadium is built now and it's too big (opinion). As I've posted before people are free to come and go or attend or not attend as they please.

I don't know why you're focusing on this 10 years.

My original question was when did we last sell out 3 in a row (just a random example). I know I put 10 years with a question mark in there, but it might have been longer, or shorter.

One poster says likely 1999-2000. That's almost a quarter of a century ago.

I think our stadium is too big, you think it isn't.

Our attendance and support is phenomenal, but it doesn't alter my opinion that the Stadium is too big.

It's to big for us at this minute in time.
It's not to big for a successful SAFC.
We're no different from any other club as the examples I gave you will prove.

Teams do well they sell out, teams do shit they don't.

There are 3 types of support. Regional, national then international. We are maxed out on regional given the geographical boundaries. We get 40k and if we were top 6 prem might get 45k average. To get national support we need a cup win or two. To get international you need 10 years of success. Chelsea have this and still struggle to sell out. For us to get 60k average would take 20 years success.

It's funny like. I don't understand them coming on this board at all, but could kind of understand them coming on the nufc thread. But coming on threads like this like tommo tit and fish fyass, proves to me how obsessed they are with us.

chelsea sell out every game and have a waiting list

Crowds will dwindle next season if the owners are lacking in ambition again.
People will get tired of the model and depending on young inexperienced players.
Parts of the ground will be mothballed.
Lack ambition? We’ve outspend everyone barring those with parachute payments having just got out of league 1 at their first go.

Surely we should get the success before expanding the ground. It's the complete wrong way round. We had 27k the last time we were in the Championship so unless things change fast we could be heading back in that direction as people won't put up with a lack of ambition and being a mid table championship table with 0 strikers forever.

We wouldn't get close to filling it. No shame in that mind.
Not that’s happening but if it’s being funded from elsewhere it’d be canny stupid not to

Are Clarke, Roberts, Ballard etc not ambitious enough for our first season back?

I didn't say we should extend the ground.
I was responding to someone that reckons our grounds to big for us.
It's not.

If we're spending money expanding a stadium using our funds then there's very likely going to be no money to buy players. Also we signed Roberts pretty much in Jan 22.

Ah fair play then, no arguments then misread the discussion.
