Agreed with a lot of this, from my previous history of working at the SOL, one thing i have always felt needed, dealing with is the overcrowding, at half time, i think its dangerous, i always have, the fact, there isn't space between people going to the toilet getting into the cue for beer, burgers and hot dogs etc, and putting a bet on in certain parts of the ground, i often wonder why concourse was designed that way, the lucky thing is, the ground in all these year's hasn't had a real emergency issue to deal with, like a fire or something worse.

Just a small point but the hand driers in some of toilets are at the entrance which means people double back towards the entrance to dry their hands then obviously carry on out through entrance which blocks the queue in up.

Maybe they need to be moved at some point as well, to be honest as the stadium gets older, you can see the places in which money has been saved and how cheep the build was at the time.

The west stand / north west corner was built to last and continues to look impressive. The rest of the ground is actually quite poor. As are a lot of the stadiums built in the 95-05 era.

There’s lots of potential for it to be made into something that’s very good but I’m not sure it’ll happen any time soon

Do the stadium facilities team really need supporters to walk them around and point out what needs doing?
I would have hoped they would have had a maintenance programme in place and regular inspections/checks going on.

Sounds like they have been under funded or they got their sums wrong and it’s now now down to drawing up a “priority list”.

Collaboration is good to see however obvious the issues

So will the finance team invite us to have a look at the accounts?
Maybe pop into the kitchens to check the recipes being used in hospitality?

Best let professionals do their jobs rather than fans.

There is something not right about this “walkabout”.
My guess is only a handful of things will be done.
Hopefully structural and safety issues will be first on the list, so why invite fans ?

Not a match but I remember being in there for Oasis in 2005? And thinking a crush was about to happen it was horrendous. It’s one thing with 48,000 football supporters in, it’s another with 60,000 people in at a gig. How they get away with it for the concerts I’ve no idea.

Immediate fixes:
The entire place needs pressure washing, especially the whole roof
Pink seats in the east stand need a flame thrower
The roof needs cleaning up, as do the girders at the back of the east and south stands.
Sort out the PA and match day music it sounds utterly shite
Get one of those cameras that hangs above the pitch installed.

Longer term fixes:
Sort out the concourse situation.
Look to extend the south stand to match the north, then get the away fans downstairs.

They open the area outside the stadium now for extra catering facilities and portaloos

I've not heard anything other than inaudible noises and 'haway the lads!' before kickoff for the last 5 years or so. Can't make out anything at half time or subs announcements at all.

Shambles the PA system. Surely a health and safety risk too if the crowded needed to be ordered to do anything in an emergency.

No offense to the bloke who is our PA announcer these days but the bloke we had for years at the end of Roker Park and the SOL right up until about 10(?) years ish ago was head and shoulders more clear than him and had a proper announcer voice. It's probably mainly due to the shocking state have fallen into mind.

They should bring that stall which is stationed outside on the corner of ALS inside the ground which sells everything on the loudspeaker for 1 pound and 1 pound 50 - its so funny and has got Pheonix nights written all over it. Would be great having it belting out on the stadium speakers
