Something else for Davison to "look into". I'd be very surprised if they did anything. We all know the issues. They don't need a walk around on a matchday/specific date with supporters. They are in there on a daily basis they should have identified issues at end of last season and have sorted them out. Maybe we should club together and buy the club a jet washer and set of ladders!

Probably agree to 'improve the cleaning regime' on matchdays or something else meaningless.

Would be utterly shocked if anything more substantial comes out of it.

A refresh of the internal concourse areas is required (doesn't even have to cost loads, well apart from a bulk blockwork paint order mainly). Place looks like it's stuck in the 90s (in a bad way) and hasn't had a spot of paint or tcl since at all.

Can we get some updated signage too.

Get them lifting flags with the legends names binned too. Look awful and lifting. Been there since the ground opened iirc.

The flags need replacing but they were a good idea. Most of the signage went when Ellis "Americanised" the bars. Real shame. I'd give free labour to paint the concourses but the club don't seem bothered to date.

Ditto, repainted the whole house last summer before moving in.

Got chod loads of left over paint in the shed (probably no colours that would suit the concourse mind :lol:), brushes and rollers. I'd come down a day and muck in for nowt.

Agreed with a lot of this, from my previous history of working at the SOL, one thing i have always felt needed, dealing with is the overcrowding, at half time, i think its dangerous, i always have, the fact, there isn't space between people going to the toilet getting into the cue for beer, burgers and hot dogs etc, and putting a bet on in certain parts of the ground, i often wonder why concourse was designed that way, the lucky thing is, the ground in all these year's hasn't had a real emergency issue to deal with, like a fire or something worse.

Done on a shoestring. Bare blockwork and exposed metal ceilings of the external envelop. Looked okay at the time but showing age now badly.

(All of the money for facilities went into the corporate areas and even they now are looking very dated).

Unsure what the regulations were in the mid 1990s on minimum square footage size requirements /per X thousand spectators for circulation/toilet/facilities areas in sports stadia/arenas like but it feels extremely packed (sometimes unsafe) and unlike how you'd design it like that now, even if you were building a large stadium at a more budget spec than say spurs stadium surely you'd make the concourses as wide as possible.

So the question i would have is, what can be done about it, opening the doors at half time always seemed a good idea, which would ease the issue i thought people able to move more freely about, but done on a shoestring seems correct. even if you had to count people in and out again, or stamp people on the hands like they do in night clubs those who want to smoke outside or drink outside etc, its possible.
 
Do the stadium facilities team really need supporters to walk them around and point out what needs doing?
I would have hoped they would have had a maintenance programme in place and regular inspections/checks going on.

Sounds like they have been under funded or they got their sums wrong and it’s now now down to drawing up a “priority list”.

Keep in mind in the US the stadium model is every 30 years roughly you tear down the old stadium biuld a new stadium…..repairs versus new question. My guess is repairs first before a new stadium in 10-15 years from now….

The lack of space in the east stand concourse has always been a problem. Gradually spent less and less time in it over the years.

It's horrific in the West too (so sounds like generally its awful in the entirety of the lower bowl).

Feels like you're a contestant on Takeshi's Castle having to duck/dive/squeeze past people 15/10 mins prior to kick off (not helped by morons gormlessly congregating around the access tunnels leading to the seats) and at half time.

I'm 6ft 3 and I find it horrible. Must be awful being a bairn or smaller chap/lass getting through those crowds.

Its the muck hiding the issues. If they clean it it'll highlight the obvious issues which need fixing to a higher degree.
 
If it needs fans groups to tell them what’s wrong with the stadium, they really don’t have a clue.

Noticed the other day that opposite roker cafe there’s a sign on the wall promoting industrial cleaning and jet washing ha, maybe this could be pointed out to Davison ha.[/QUOTE]
