Club are looking to extend the stadium

Well if we were a top 4 premiership side it would need to be extended.
We’re still a little bit untested in the modern age potential wise.

Its a yes from me for the full extension.
That recent posted mirrored stadium image looked great (despite the resulting dodgy north stand seat writing).
For me playing with only the lower bowl full wouldn’t bother me, sitting in the east stand I’m used to an empty Premier Concourse. Simply having the seats black would help.
However can’t see it happening, definitely not in my lifetime.

You got a link to that?

It’s a no from me.
I am very skeptical of kld and his long terms for the club,,,but extending the stadium now shows balls in my book and unless its one of these smokescreens that will never happen it demonstrates his intention to get us back to the prem and stay there .....

So you are in agreement, it could get champs league final. Thanks
I asked why would we get to host the champions league final in my first reply to you, and you never responded.

It’s got as much chance of getting a champions league final as Boro’s stadium does.

Personally if we ever extended it, I'd want to keep the south stand single tier but I don't think that'd be possible with the design of the stadium

Would be the biggest waste of money I could possibly imagine.

When in the championship we have about 12k empty seats.
When in Premier league we generally have about 5k empty seats.

I would imagine our average gate since the SoL opened is about 38k?

So other than concerts for 10 events in the summer and a few games in a oneoff tournament that we not even win the bid for we sit there with 22k empty seats for 50 years in new stands all of which need maintenance that we cant afford now in a 49k stadium.

Genius this.

According to Magnus over the road.

Lets forget about empty seats etc. If Sunderland want to compete seriously we need to get the infrastructre ready for the next 10 years etc.

Good move in my opinion
Yes it’s all about luxury box’s in US stadiums….that model just started with Tottenham stadium then we will see Everton’s new stadium…..Sunderland will have to update to move forward….it’s not about seat count it’s luxury bring fans together with a full match day experience both for home and away supporters
