Members pre season forum 27.3.23

You didn’t answer, you just prattled on about nowt for a few paragraphs. Have you told the club how you feel?
It would be a waste of time. Contacted the club on several issues with nil response.
My "prattling" was contrasting how approchable the past regime was to the current one, excluding Campbell who I wouldn't wish to pre-judge Again, apologies for any lack of clarity

Ahhh, so the answer is no. Glad we got there in the end.

If you’re not willing to tell the club how you feel or how badly they’ve treated you, how can you expect them to know to put it right for the future?

Pretty sure there isn’t a crystal ball in the reception at Riverside.

Again, you're ignoring my reasoning. I've stated that I've contacted the club several times in the past and gained no response. It appears that you're intent on confrontation rather than reasoned discussion. I've no desire to be involved with that thank you

No attempt at confrontation from me, I didn’t ignore anything, I asked a simple question which took you a few attempts at answering and pointed out that if you’re disgruntled yet haven’t aired your grievance then the club can hardly be blamed for not being able to read your mind.

Ultimately, it seems a pretty petty topic to lose your shit over given all that has gone on at the club over the last five years or so.

Yes,no point in our having discussions. We clearly don't understand each other.
But finally congratulations. I've put you on ignore. In 12 years posting, you're the 1st I've felt it necessary to do so.

Absolutely pathetic!

I don’t have anyone on ignore because I’m not a big sissy and I don’t allow strangers on an internet forum to offend/upset me to the point I have to silence them.

You ok hun?
Thought I'd stumbled onto the Yorkie forum for a minute there lads, all the pointless bickering over nowt ;)

Is that place full of big babies too?

Having made two phone calls (details left) and one personal visit, I still await an answer regarding delivery of membership cards for this season.
As regards Monday evening’s forum today’s email says that booking is not required just turn up with 2023 membership card🤷‍♂️

If you were a member last year cards will remain the same, confirmed tonight

Anything else of note?

The conveyor belt rolls on.

McKinney will captain the second as part of his development - if he doesn't jump into the firsts (suggests he isn't expected to all that often to me, although that can change with big runs I'm sure)

McAlindin still out but he and Killeen back in training

England tickets still available

New members liaison officer in place, very experienced local cricket afficionado whose name I forget

Badger and Campbell on same page as far as declarations go (a certain game I'm sure we all remember was mentioned)

Overall the club is buzzing (isn't every club always in pre season mind)

I got a free coronation chicken sandwich and I'm very grateful.
Oh and there is going to be an effort to bring yht community feel back theough better communication and more events for members.

@The Red Telephone we have already signed you up for our pub quiz team the trapdoor all stars

Emailing people to go to the geoff cook suite, having signs up everywhere saying in was in the cathedral suite and the tannoy announcing it in the castle view suite just added to the ambience

This is what I mean, it's just all organised so hastily and people aren't singing off the same page.

I remember years back, they announced well in advance the dates of the forums so members could arrange/organise well in advance. I think this announcement was made on Thursday evening, with the game on the Monday and the fact it was a warm-up uni game with a 6 degrees max forecast, it's not going to be well attended.

I've said as have many others, communication is very poor. We're shit hot announcing when Buble is playing, but finding out how long Shaun Dickson was injured for was nigh on impossible unless you approached the player directly. I'm not sure where the blame lies with that but ultimately it's an issue. Even things on the website need a spruce up, photos of old kit/old players etc get it updated it's not difficult to do and we have a media team. Twitter match updates were sparse at times and team news at times only at the last minute. Lot of work to do but a lot of it is basic stuff which isn't difficult to implement.

Martyn Wigham leaving is a big loss though, he did a lot of good work.

It was mentioned last night at the members forum, the media and communications team have two members of staff, that is it. Not lots of staff like some of the counties have.
