WELCOME TO SUNDERLAND...

It was iconic at the time but that lettering would look awful anywhere on the Stadium of Light.
The club perhaps missed a trick in not incorporating the Roker main stand Leitch latticework into the SoL's superstructure when it was built. That could have looked superb...rather than a small section of it slowly deteriorating in the Main Stand car park.
Or a pale plastic imitation in the south stand. Looks poor imo.
Welcome to Sunderland…. 70% of sides take a point or 3 home!
Our home form is shocking and will only improve when we can put a full side out. Going to continue for remainder of the season sadly but next year we can and should improve greatly. No welcome signs though, should be looking to be less hospitable in the ground rather than more. Lets make it harder for away sides and get more of an advantage to being at home.

Im fecking livid with the situation tbh, knew Stewart was crocked prior which makes it ten times worse.

I was disappointed we didn't as well. Didn't Donald and Methven say it was going to be too expensive to salvage it and put it in the South Stand?

I was furious at the time. I;m still angry but can't do anything about it now. Not expecting anything from any game other than a loss so when we do get something like yesterday its a bonus. Do hope its not a repeat in the summer.

The iconic lettering at the back of the Fulwell live long in my memory.
What are the chances of reuniting all of the original letters and putting them along the back of the south or east stand?... it'd look class like.

Reuniting them may prove difficult - I do however have the original T, W, A and spare T that I can dust down from the attic for you. 😁

Best of luck finding the others buddy.

Thats everyones view on it i guess. Speakmans lucky theres been no backlash bar a few angry radio callers. Its sackable imo.

I think a lot of casual ticket buyers or those that had half season tickets will be on fence next year. Issue is I'm not sure the club feel like they need the fans. Look at the way they've treated us recently. The plan seems to be to stock us up with young players, give them a shop window and fund the club/make profits from sales. In that model supporters aren't needed. I hope they prove me wrong and re-engage.

Good post.

Its a shame you need to sign up before seeing if plans just to tread water forever n feed prem clubs players.

Pressure washing the entire ground would be a better idea.
I agree but I suspect cleaning the ground would expose where the muck is hiding maintenance issues. We need to be taking better case of a key asset. After all the concerts rely on good infrastructure. Do we want to put the profits from this in doubt?
