MotD - Who should present long term?

The criticism the BBC get for paying Lineker/Shearer and co so much £'s for MotD, this present "stand off" is a hell of an opportunity to revamp it and bring in fresh talent. I actually quite like Shearer and Wright on there, but, if this continues, they will very soon be breaching their contracts.

I really like Mark Chapman on MotD2. Don't mind Danny Murphy, Keano would be a laugh! New broom job, who would you all like to do the show?

Chapman has already said he isn't standing in for him
Have no one present it.
Just show the highlights and no BS chat about the games after.

Programme will last about twenty minutes. They can't show any more than they currently do

On another note, are Wright, shearer et al not in breach of contract if they refuse to work when they are supposed to?

Seems the BBC read this page :)

Will they not be technically self employed, hence Wright flitting between ITV and BBC? Wright comes across as a class bloke, the sort of person you’d love to have as a mate.

Must be some sort of contract in place for when they appear though.

No pundits equals more football . What’s not to like 👍

Kills the whole concept of MOTD. People like the banter and discussion. Most hard core football fans will already know all the results and many will have already seen all the goals. That's not what many watch it for.

If they can't resolve this quick the programme just dies. Huge own goal for the BBC. I have no doubt they (i.e. Boris's mate who got him that £800,000 loan then suddenly and coincidentally landed the top BBC gig which was effectively decided by Boris), will have had a call today to help them along the way in making this decision. Its a huge own goal for both the BBC and the Tories.

Loads of other BBC presenters on other programmes are openly political in their private lives and its rarely been an issue until one suddenly massively citicises and calls out this government. If Lineker had tweeted 'great policy Rishi lad, Stop The Boats' does anyone think he would be banned from MOTD tomorrow night? Of course he wouldn't be.

Its not that he made a political statement that's the issue, its which side of the fence he's on and that's a dangerous precident to set that damages all our rights to free speech.
The BBC will come out and show how diverse they are and have a female on tomorrow I reckon, get a few back on their side.

Best of luck with that. Pretty much all the BBC female pundits are ex England players and as a bunch ex England female footballers and indeed the current England female footballers are more left wing than the politburo of your average communist state. I cannot see anyone of them breaking ranks on this one. If they want a female to do it they could try either Laura or Fiona from their current employees who are both more than happy to stick their tounges up the current governments collective anus.
