Forthcoming gigs.

Saw them supporting Jason Isbell in Manchester a while back and they were highly entertaining. I then noticed they also back Chrissie Hynde in the Pretenders when I saw them at the Cluny.
Know very little about them apart from the lads have seen them & love them. Had a little listen on Spotify, decent, Saturday night at the Cluny so I’m sold.

They were brilliant. Had a sound and a look of late '70s new wave/rock and roll. Sort of like Graham Parker or someone like that. They also did that thing of swapping instruments etc. Really good.

I don't think £31 is a bad price for the Sage and I am as mean as they come regarding ticket prices.

Too much for me on a Wednesday. On a weekend I could soak it up as part of a day/night out and justify it/not worry about it... But £31 x 2 tickets, plus a couple of drinks each and parking etc.. gonna be knocking on £100 for a Wednesday night gig. Not affordable for me unfortunately. Not for Big Thief anyway

Funnily enough, I`ve just been writing up an interview with the guitarist James Walbourne. His Lordship are great. Tons of energy and a lot of fun live. They are on at The Cluny 2 on 1st April.

Yes that makes sense. I’m 61 now and have no kids draining resources so I’m going to 8 gigs this month. Love it more than I ever have. Arena (not my choice but it’s free😀) , riverside, boilershop, Cluny, pop recs, trillians are the venues. Went to peacock at end of February.
Need to cram them in before I cannot be arsed.

Well done mate. You must have some engine on you. I am 49 (today) ,and I make excuses to not go out, simply because I cannot be arsed.Saying that, I have never duffed a gig. Style councillors at the cluny next for me, then Steve mason next month

It’s probably easier to go out now because of far less responsibilities in life.
I have kept myself fit and won’t be caning it at every gig😀

Edit. Happy birthday

Who did you see at Trillians??

He comes across as a very charismatic chap. I've listened to his country stuff as well. It's really interesting how these people sustain a career. Where will your interview be featured?

Happy birthday Skylon.

Got to say like, 40 this year & the day of the gig sometimes helps if I go. Young Fathers on Monday, could have quite easily sacked it off after me tea. Glad I didn’t, once you get there & the band starts up it’s great, but shit having to get up early the next day.
Prowsey weekend for me. Facebook gig tomorrow night then Southport on Saturday.
Remind me to rewatch that please. I’m at the Red Sky Ball at the Beacon of Light tomorrow

I'll do what I can to remind you. I try to keep my gig attendance to Thursday to Saturday where possible as trips to Liverpool on Tuesday nights are a bit of a pain in the arse for me these days. I'd rather have a stopover in Huddersfield on a Friday night than a shit midweek night gig closer to home.

A huge influence on Oasis in my opinion.

Window pane was an absolute tune from back in the day. Likewise the truth. Was never impressed with their albums though. Was one of the head brothers in them? Always thought this for some reason. I think Liam admitted the real people were a big influence
