Forthcoming gigs.

I was there last Friday for Inhaler and the balconies were very sparsely populated. As a result, it could be that that the floor space is rammed.
Are you able to confirm that you get a 'general admission' ticket and then are allowed to go up into the balcony or downstairs?

I intend to report this as some poor kid is going to get crushed at some point. Better report it now than say 'I told you' so after it happens. I need to get the facts correct.

I've looked at the ticket sites for forthcoming gigs and the ticket options only give a General Admission option.

I can confirm that my General Admission ticket (last night) allowed me to go into the floor or the balcony.

Tickets are 'General Admission' and this is not unusual at venues where is no or little seating on balconies. Ritz in Manchester and Empress Ballroom in Blackpool are two venues that spring to mind that have the same approach. The venue capacity will be in accordance with their safety certificate for such events.

Thanks. But if there is no control about who goes where, all it takes is a particular gig where it's 'not cool' to go upstairs. It doesn't take too many people in 'the wrong place' at a relatively small gig to cause a problem.

At the risk of drawing a dramatic comparison. If a standing terrace behind a goal is divided into five fenced sections, it's pretty much inevitable that people will gravitate towards the middle ones and the ones adjacent to the middle one on either side, particularly if there is one central entrance, leaving the outside two under capacity and the middle three over capacity, if the tickets allow you access to all five.

Pissed up young 'uns aren't particularly well known for their reasoned decisions when going to a gig.

Enjoyable night at the City Hall watching the Black Star Riders. Excellent to see a legend in Scott Gorham. Also really good to meet up with @mickb2112
Great to catch up @King Kareoke . Brilliant gig with three cracking bands. It`s almost 40 years to the day that I first saw Scott Gorham on stage at the City Hall with Thin Lizzy so brilliant to see him again. Such a class act. And Michael Monroe - what a whirlwind of energy and his band looked fantastic- what a sleazy, Punky Hard Rock band should look like. It was great being serenaded by Monroe too when he climbed up the balcony :D

It was very bizarre yet great

Teenage Fanclub at sage hall two in November.
I'll be going but I disagree with their blurb......'As part of that tour we played a couple of seated venues and enjoyed the experience. We got the feeling that the audience did too.”

I recall seeing them at Whitley Bay Playhouse and it was like an old folks night out. Seen them about a dozen times, first time was supporting The Soup Dragons at Riverside.

1990? I was there too.

Only standing tickets are left on the sage website but that's probably because the seats are closer to the stage. I missed that Whitley Bay gig so it's a long time since I saw them.

The Comet is Coming at the Boiler Shop next week.
David Rodigan at Wylam Brewery the week after.
Pigs x7 at the Lubber Fiend mid April.
That Devo band whenever that is at Pop Recs.
