Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Again. How would you know that ?

Again read he examples given

Not to mention it took fan pressure to simply get the ticket office and club shop to re open

Why are you so offended about criticism of the PR at SAFC?

If it was any good you wouldnt have threads like this

You are trying to wind me up pr are as thick as two short battens.

This is my last interaction with you.

My FiL has had a smart phone for past decade. Still doesn't know how to use it beyond calls & photos
Saying that I never text him cos he never checks his bloody texts and signs off every message with - dad.

I’d probably have to get the ticket on his phone the first few times as well before it sinks in.

My card is in the drawer upstairs, just needs reactivation when I pay.

Bet you drink that bottled water from the never ending springs , but never mind you can keep recycling the bottles , at no cost to the environment of course.

That’s great, you can put it in your plastic recycling bin in due course and do your bit for the environment.

No new plastic cards issued from next season onwards (There are always new season ticket holders and cards that need to be replaced). This is before we consider the huge volume of paper tickets printed each season).

If that doesn’t work for you then that’s fine, you can still print your tickets at home. The club will at least be doing its bit.

I’m going to hazard a guess and say you probably don’t go in for climate change.

It's not just older fans, if it's not a QR code then people will need a phone that supports "tapping your phone like when you pay for stuff" from what I understand.

My phone doesn't support that, so I will need a new phone IF as the statement says no physical cards are available and they don't use a QR code.

Or have I misunderstood?
It'll be how they do tickets via phone mate it'll have a qr code I think all digital wallet tickets I've used over the years have been qr coded doing it any other way would only further add barriers like you say lots of peoples smartphone won't support that
The iPhone is 15 years old. If you're 75 and going to games that's 15 years to learn how to use a modern phone. Email has been around for what at least 30 year so if you're 75 you could've had an email address since you were 40.

People are talking as if smartphones have just appeared for our change to digital season tickets. Everything now is either through the mobile or going mobile
Alot of my family don't have emails or smartphones my uncle in his 60s only wants a shitty £5 type phone as he hates the smartphones and wants buttons. To you and me it seems logical step, I'm 40 and pretty much been on the absolute tip of technology I've paid silly prices to be early adopter of technology but there's plenty out there that can't or don't want to use it. As long as there's options for those fans is all I care about.

I'm in my 70s and like that. I've got the last version of the iPhone and an old Nokia that is much smaller.. I get them off my son who usually has a contract and the latest iPhone so he gives me his old one when he gets a new contract. I still only take the Nokia out with me as it fits in my pocket and just use it for calls. I can't see me ever using either for anything else although the iPhone does take a good picture. I laughed when he said I should install Apple Pay but then again I still use cash a lot when I go shopping. On the plus side the last £10 credit I out on my Nokia lasted three years. They are both Pay As You Go.

Hopefully it will just be QR code which can just be printed off & laminated. However the press release goes on about security & fraud. QR codes are less secure than the current cards which makes me think it'll be the NFC option.

Used the digital ticket mobile phone app for the rugby last year Scotland Vs New Zealand and for me it worked well. However there should be an alternative for those not comfortable with technology, ultimately they're customers and in this example this fella will have spent a fortune supporting the club.

And all of this could have been avoided with a properly worded Press Release, yet here we are still not knowing what type of tickets they will be and still no word (OFFICIALY) that there will be a physical card option.

Top communication from the club

as Bill gates has said, climate change does not exist, if you can simply pay money for a carbon offset scheme. Meaning its solution, is already available. As he does for his private jet. It’s a tax Scheme… that’s all. Nothing more.

Carbon offsetting schemes are far from reliable mind, most responsible companies are trying to move towards net zero without offsetting for that very reason

Have other clubs gone 100% digital?

I know there's been suggestion that we're not, but the official press release says we are.
There may be others, but the club mentioned Leeds as one. I don't know for sure but, given they were referenced, I'd imagine our system will be similar to theirs. The Leeds United supporter's trust wrote about it here
