Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

I remember while standing watching the anti board/murray protests by the fancy gates after a Blackburn defeat being told to leave the clubs grounds by a young PC. "there's been a request by the owners for everyone to be moved on" etc. "Tell your sergeant to ask the owners if they really want to be seen to be throwing their fellow shareholders out off their own property?" Sgt came over and exhaled deeply when PC told him then wandered off speaking to someone on his radio about it.
We wandered off for a pint when the arsehole cop on the horse seemed to realise he wasn't scaring those sitting down by dancing up close to them. Ive since been told the shareholder news didn't go down well when the top cop told them in the boardroom.

Ooh aren’t you hard

I don't think that's fare on old folk, some are at an age they've done all the learning and evolving they can manage, that point comes to us all. And for something as trivial as gaining access to a football ground needing a phone/ be able to use it get someone to setup emails accounts etc etc when a piece of plastic you already have in your wallet or purse did that just as quickly and easily I understand completely the push back from older fans.

There's literally no benefit in reality, your card works just as fast if not faster as this is going to work.

The iPhone is 15 years old. If you're 75 and going to games that's 15 years to learn how to use a modern phone. Email has been around for what at least 30 year so if you're 75 you could've had an email address since you were 40.

People are talking as if smartphones have just appeared for our change to digital season tickets. Everything now is either through the mobile or going mobile

It's not just older fans, if it's not a QR code then people will need a phone that supports "tapping your phone like when you pay for stuff" from what I understand.

My phone doesn't support that, so I will need a new phone IF as the statement says no physical cards are available and they don't use a QR code.

Or have I misunderstood?

But why use digital tickets. What's wrong with using a card??

Do you want to know something, This has "TICKETMASTER" all over it.......! An absolute horrendous system especially at the arena in Newcastle. Never had a good experience with it yet....

Cant add to Google wallet, cant transfer and cant screen shot tickets.

Let that sink in people. Thats what all this is about....!

Took 30 mins to get into a gig down Liverpool the other other month because the f***ing Ticketmaster app wouldn’t load up. We only got in in the end because I went f***ing ballistic. They wouldn’t even accept the confirmation emails I had. Had to scan the ticket which was on the app that was down.

Absolute shitshow.

Never had a problem with wallet but Ticketmaster don’t let you transfer it there.

If you move seats you need a new card. If you don't want to go to I'm presuming with the new system the club can reallocate your seat to someone else with the app and temporarily suspend your access.

Aye they've played a blinder.

And that's easier is it?

There'll be other reasons like data collection. Currently you could hold a season ticket but give it to a different mate every game and they wouldn't know. With this new system they'll be able to identify the demographics of who is attending the games better as it'll be account driven.

Most top flight and championship clubs will move to this model as they'll be able to control the sale and resale of tickets and be able to identify troublemakers easier

My dads over 70 and has had a smart phone for as long as they’ve been about. He’s got email and NHS apps on the phone.

There’s a degree of stubbornness here BUT agree there still should be an option (which there appears to be)

Fans don't realize that we are seen as customers now. That's the reality now. But unlike regular customers we won't take our business to a rival company. Owners know that. Clubs don't care about people like Gus. Someone will take his place.
