Investment in the stadium

North West is a funny one. You have anfield being redeveloped, Everton new ground that looks class, man city's, and man United. Who will they choose there?

It’s 10 from 14.

Us
Mags
Everton’s new ground
City
United
Villa
Croke Park
Hampden
Millennium
Casement (Belfast)
Wembley
Spurs
West Ham
Aviva stadium.

Wembley, Belfast, Hampden & one of the Dublin grounds are guaranteed. That’s 4.

Spurs
United
Villa
London

That’s 8.

There will be another from the NW between Everton & City, then us or Newcastle.

Aaaah, right.Cheers for that.Would like to see Everton as Manchester already has games. Although I would like to see us get it, it's no big deal if we don't. It's a bit easier for people to travel to Newcastle, isn't it? That might sway it.

Yes me too, I’d like to see it in two separate cities. Everton’s new ground is going to be class too. I was working down there last month and there’s a lot of works going on around it too.

You can get direct trains from London to sunderland and there’s nothing stopping them putting more on. I think each club that’s selected has to give up its training facilities and ours are far superior which has a massive bearing on the decision too.

I think its clear that the SOL does need work. Anyone who thinks its in acceptable condition needs to look again. We spent a little on the pitch and apparently some on the training ground but our commercial side and ground are well behind where they should be. Its important to remember that SOL is used for concerts and we're wanting corporate money to come in. We're risking events and corporate if the internal look is poor. Whilst the whole board are responsible for this Steve Davison is the head non football man at the club and he needs to stop "looking into" things and instead get things done.

Our stadium could be smothered in dog shit and I would still love it! My favourite place in the entire world, such amazing memories over the years.

This is all wrong

Wonder if Kyril will ask the fans to come and do some spring cleaning like Stu Donald did to get the seats replaced

Won’t be Wembley , spurs and London stadium. Sure the rule is max 2 from any one city

It'll go to them surely as they're Premier league and we're not?

I don't think it'll be down to the ranking of the club that usually play in the stadium.

If it goes to SJP rather than SoL, it'll be more down to the better transport links, better hotel offerings, etc

I know it's the world cup, but Qatar had the entire tournament in and around a single city.

If they were going to be down to technical specifics, Wembley Stadium isn't actually in London

I know it's used to shine alight on the fact they obviously didn't have the coin to run a club likenus properly but at the time I thought it was a great idea getting fans to invest their time in the place they love builds bonds. Looking back it was probably to trick the thick northerners to save a few pennies.

I can’t comprehend the economics of building stadiums.

Sunderland £24m
Everton £500m
Spurs £1000m

This for stadiums that are used about one afternoon a fortnight, serve no other substantive purpose and have no resale value other than for knocking down and using the land for something else.

Completely crackers.

Spurs stadium almost makes sense with the multi use for NFL and its adaptability, but your quite right though apart from football and the odd concert what else can you use a football stadium for?
