A lad on Twitter reckons we're considering building a 65k capacity stadium with safe standing and a retractable roof.
We'll not get the 2028 Euros at the stadium. Of the grounds, as Villa Park's extension is confirmed already, only Belfast is smaller capacity than the Stadium of Light, and Belfast has to be used as Northern Ireland is a co-host and that's their only venue.

Other grounds mention possible or proposed extensions, but no notes of that sort on Sunderland, which - I'm guessing - means they won't be taking any expansion into account and consider 49000 as our capacity.
On that alone, there's no way it'll make the final 10 host stadia, and that's before you take transport infrastructure and hotel capacity into account.
I mean it’s ludicrous, but i do think KLD’s mind will be on the longer term investment opportunities of a completely new stadium rather than constantly spending millions on tinkering round the edges of the existing one.
They won’t go on capacity alone. They’ll be reluctant to put Poland v Greece on in anything over 50k because it won’t sell. Having said that, I agree I don’t think the SoL will make it.
The grounds for the regions have all been decided already, except the NE. It’s us v mags.
It'll be us then, all the tourists will want to come and visit Palliwood Studios at the same time. The grounds for the regions have all been decided already, except the NE. It’s us v mags.

Anyone know when they’re announcing that?I doubt we will do anything unless we get Euro 28’ games

Ah I get you, 5 years time the city will look completely different. It doesn’t matter about that for international tournaments mate. It’s about access, egress, transport, accommodation, training, hospitality etc etc.
Ultimayely it’ll be down to who offers EUFA the best package. We’re also under European ownership. Everything that’s going on at riverside & sheepfolds will show ability for fanzones etc.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see, hopefully we'll get a announcement within the next year or so?
I don’t think that’s true mind mate.
North West is a funny one. You have anfield being redeveloped, Everton new ground that looks class, man city's, and man United. Who will they choose there?I can’t remember when they said it has to be announced by but 4 years would seem logical.
In most places it’s a very easy choice.
