Summer Streets 2022 confirmed

As you'd expect from a bunch of pensioners who have learned to play the ukulele. Harmless enough but wouldn't rush to see them. Played a few 'classics' then said "It wouldn't be the North East if we didn't play some Lindisfarne." I think I wandered off at that point. Crowd seemed to be enjoying it including the man inexplicably wearing a coat underneath his anorak on the hottest day of the year. His dog barked throughout the aerial display thing as well.

Mike porter tribute act?
Any more pictures? Seems to have just fell off the cliff. Expected loads of social media pics of families enjoying themselves.

I didn't really take many only one came out half decent, one of her off lovely eggs

Class day out. Sun burnt now. Good atmosphere like, we were there 1-5pm, so missed the headliners. It seemed rammed to me by the end.

Walked over the town, ate at Spent Grain then to spot white for a couple of hours of pool and loads of shots, last bus home, whisky and Joni Mitchell videos till I could open my eyes no more

Have you seen this?!? The whole set's up in bits on Youtube and Pitchfork but this one completely floored me. The voice has, ehm, changed a bit but the phrasing is fantastic.

Brandi Carlile does a brilliant job nudging her along and taking on the lead when it's necessary.

@RestlessNatives

Any news of this year? Last year was a huge success in my humble opinion. Spending the day in the baking heat, supping a few cans, crafts with the kids, watching local youth groups give it a good go, followed by 2/3/4 mini gigs.

Bring it on. Paul McCartney to headline
I've not heard anything but I'm sure there will be work going on behind the scenes. I'm guessing logistics will be a little trickier this year with the works going on at the shelter.

That’s far enough along to not make a big difference? Looking at the first post on here, we’re about 2/3 months early like. It was announced late.

Start prodding those in the know & say I’m interested. Let them know about Macca too.

The Futureheads one? Aye, need to pick tickets up for that. Going to take the bairn, she loves Beginning of the Twist so will have to get her into a few other tunes.

Started if in Thompson’s Park. Can’t remember the Little Comets ever doing it like. Saying that, the first few years the bairn was too young, so we went early & came home early. Last year she was on my shoulders for the Lovely Eggs :cool:
