Hyped up places that were crap

I once went to Stonehenge and the guard told me it was ‘closed’. I could literally see it 10 metres away over his shoulder. That was enough for me. Some stones in a field.
We did that at jedbugh castle or Abbey or whatever. She took our money then said you can't go in but can look from outside 😁

Miller & Carter - appalling value for money and shoddy service.
A few to start:

Miller & Carter - appalling value for money and shoddy service.

Marco Pierre White steakhouse - decent food but stupidly expensive and pretentious

The Rib Room (Ramside) - place is falling apart and staffed by bairns
I knew this would be shit . They all are . Owned by a pub chain ffs what did you expect ?

I was underwhelmed but I'm happy to put it down to the fact that I went when I was 22 I think and skint and it is a very expensive place.

Not convincing me on the mermaid though

It was very expensive the first time I went and ridiculously expensive the last time I was there last year. Great place for young people though.

I used to work for the company behind miller and Carter (but in a different brand) and can confirm that everything is bought in, none of the sauces etc. are made in the kitchens. even the steaks themselves aren't the best quality in the company due to the numbers they have to go through.
