Sick.
Covid gets the scream treatment. Some canny funny bits and weird to see how the US of A was during lockdowns but overall a bit naff. The justification was beyond ridiculous.

4/10 or, should I say, a negative…lol

The Menu. We thought it was great. 9/10.
It's listed as horror. From what I've read on it though it's mainly just gore, is that right and is it therefore ok for someone that is easily spooked? Will it give them nightmares?
You should be ok mate. I thought you'd have grown out of it by now mind.

The Menu was funny, in a very dark way. Takes the piss out of foodies but sort of lost its way in the last third for me.7/10

The prestige

Bale, Hackman, Caine and directed by Nolan.
About my 5th viewing, tremendous.
Great story and cracking performances from all.

Just a brilliant story full of twists, one of the best for me. Magicians in 1899 being absolute shithouses with each other.

9.5/10
Been a few years since I’ve seen it so might give it a watch.

Just finished rewatching Interstellar. Phenomenal film with an even better score. 9/10

Think films in recent years have generally been pretty rubbish. However one of the best ones I've seen recently was where the crawdads sing. Had to hire it from Amazon like.
Like music nowadays, the big studios know what will sell. So they reproduce film after film with the same basic ideas. Hence we have loads of copycat Ed Sheeran shit all over the radio with the same chord structures, same vocal melodies etc. And in the film world we have the absolute joke like Marvel and all the other comic book nonsense, where you have one story and make it into a thousand others, all pretty much identical.

Snore.

Aftersun - 7/10 - Hard to say I enjoyed this movie about a woman looking back on a holiday with her father when she was a kid. It's very melancholic and parts of it reminded me of past holidays and very recently going through old home movies myself. It won't be for everyone as superficially it will appear boring and slow. One of those where you can appreciate what and how it's conveying and the fact it's different to most of the shite that's out there.
