Bollocks. Last time they had “success” our attendances rose as well. If a few plastics want to wear a black and white shirt and never go to games, oh well never mind. If we were going to lose fans to them, we’d have lost them in L1. You’re clearly a Mag, we have a massive fan base, we always will. Get over it.

What's wrong with you?

When the mags are winning the odd trophy, challenging for top 4, sometimes finishing top 4, of course they will get fans from Sunderland areas.

We are well supported but our numbers will be affected by their success. That's life.

So people that go to Sunderland games will suddenly stop going, buy a Barcode shirt and sit in the pub instead as they have no spare seats. 😝 Desperate, needy Mag.

A previous post says your Dutch and came to England in 2011 and seen a sunderland game and followed us since. Now you know how many shirts are in Durham on a daily basis.

Not the fans who have been going for years obviously.

But the fans in-between the areas or some of the casuals. People who have moved to the North East etc.

Your argument would be quite straight forward to prove or disprove if you wish. Just go back a few years to previous Boxing Day games in the championship and check the attendances. Did we sell out a few years ago?

So what. So we won’t attract the casual viewer with no ties to the club. I can live with that. Your lot are welcome to them. Might have to build a bigger ground elsewhere though

Our average is 38000 plus this season ( 10000 more than the next nearest )
Crowds are the least of our issues I agree
If everyone makes sure their kids /grandkids remain loyal we should stay high .
A bit of success would help -mind I’m enjoy watching a group of lads with talent putting a shift in .
