Attendance Thread - Blackburn Rovers

It was a helluva roar.

It sounded much louder than the roar which greeted our equaliser, even though there were certainly less people still in the ground, to see Simms injury time winner.
Kicking into the South Stand and the timing of it made the difference IMO
Gave away all the tickets yesterday 👍 Best giveaway was to a guy and his 3 boys (about 4 -10 years old), they couldn’t believe it and ended up spending the entrance money in the club shop, absolutely buzzing after our result.
Ps. All the best for the new year NR
That is outstanding.
Who said the Christmas Spirit is dead?

For anyone thinking that half had left the ground at 90mins-this will address that ….
I stumbled on you tube a video from the north west corner -Hoppers Guide Sunderland v Blackburn rovers and the Simms goal ( I’m owld so née idea how to link or if it’s been posted already ) but it shows the ground which is still very full and goes nuts -the roar is tremendous!
Well worth 1 minute of any safc fans time to see it from a “unique “ angle ! Dispels any of the “ fans “ saying there’s née one left !! The noise !!

Not at all bothered about attendances tbh

A| near on full house with lack of atmosphere (if that is the case) may look good to onlookers

But I couldnt give a f***ing shit what onlookers think

I would much prefer SOL to be filled with fervent SAFC fans rather than day tripper types.

Appearances are deceptive

34,000 or so loyal fans can make far more noise than 43,000 in attendance.

And if another team has greater attendances than us, I could not give a shit

I maybe get a bit envious if they have won more trophies than us though.....................

It was very evident in the play off home match against Lincoln, a couple of seasons ago.
Only 10,000 of us in the SOL that night, but the noise and the passion from the fans in the ground, was incredible.
We made it sound, as if there was three or four times, the actual amount of fans in attendance.

I'm watching and listening with headphones on and I'm getting goosebumps.

The noise levels increasing, in hope & anticipation of a goal, when Ballard slides the ball out to Simms.

That huge and prolonged roar of ecstasy & sheer relief, at the last gasp winner.

The reaction of the packed crowd, punching the air, and jumping around in celebration.

The Stadium announcer milking the situation to maximum effect.

f***ing brilliant. 👏👏👏👏

That’s exactly what I thought when I first came across it -wow -immediately it put me back into the stadium and the crowd roar.
And I thought it totally dispels them theory “half have left “ the ground .
Whoever posted it only had about 30 views so at least now others will see it.
Well done whoever you are
Mind the last thing I would be doing is recording it ( wouldn’t kna how ) but pleased you did

It's a great watch.
I was in my usual North Stand seat, and I was screaming at Simms to hit it first time, and really thought he'd missed the chance to score, when he took a touch upon receiving the ball.
A millisecond later, and I'm jumping around and screaming/roaring like a demented lunatic, along with the vast majority of red & whites, who'd stayed until the end.

There certainly were early leavers, (that'll always be the case, and that's entirely their prerogative) but it's obvious that the vast majority, stayed to the bitter end, and were rewarded with a richly deserved winning goal, and great scenes of celebration, from players & fans.

I've been away (from Sunderland) far too long, the way he pronounces Goaal sounds lush 🤩

Daughter has season tickets x 3 and goes to Durham Uni. Is home for Christmas (Isle of Man) and it was logistically impossible for any of us to enjoy family Christmas Day together and make the game (esp with k.o time) = 3 empty seats sadly. Easier for us to get theWigan or Blackpool games but no chance of tickets. Still buzzing though.
My friends couldn't attend so me, one out of five season ticket holders, attended.
