Attendance Thread - Blackburn Rovers

Can't really blame people that would choose not to sit there given objects have been thrown down. I sit in row 12 of the North stand, I've always sat in the North stand and always liked it. I've sat in all stands and I'd choose North every time.
Mainly the front seats behind the goal, leaky roof?

Do you work for the club? Or do you like to try and criticise the club? Can't seem to make my mind up about you. On one hand you seem helpful, in fact you're barely that anymore. On the other hand you're after bites.

Strange one and I can see why many posters don't tolerate you anymore.

Let’s just make it easy for supporters to support?

It’s easier to get into North Korea than the Sol. Easy ticket and cash options. It’s not rocket science.
I think it much harder to get into North Korea.

First and foremost, if you're a citizen of the United States, South Korea or Malaysia, you cannot currently visit North Korea. At all. For the rest of us, the only way to visit North Korea is with a registered and approved tour operator providing state-approved trips. You cannot travel solo to North Korea.

As said been done else where. We have to make it easy for people to support the club whether it is merchandise or getting into the SOL. Whatever you think for many it’s not easy.

Our attendances given recent history are nothing short of magnificent however We have 9,000 empty seats every home game. Let’s make the most of it through people just turning up on the day and getting in through cash or card.

Given cost of living crisis let kids in for a quid obviously with some control. May cost short term but build the fan base in years to come.

With murderous blood money up the road and the temptation to support that lot the club have to do more to get children into the SOL.

If that is talking shite Einstein I hold my hands up.

We are mid table in the Championship and have 9,000 empty seats every game. The last few seasons we were in the Premier League we also had 9,000 empty seats and there was pay on the gate (WITH CASH) back then. If you want to go then it's easy to do so and I can guarantee it's not more difficult than getting into N Korea! You're creating a problem that isn't there.

Why does every seat need to be filled anyway? How many other teams outside the PL are filling their stadiums every week?

Charging a quid just totally devalues the product and you are left with a few thousand bored kids just wondering around the stadium like what happens at cup games. It certainly does nothing to improve the atmosphere, in fact it just annoys people having to keep getting up to let them past.

Argh so because we have always done something we shouldn’t try something different. We are in the middle of a cost of living crisis with record child poverty in the NE let’s take some initiative and encourage more kids and families.

You are being pretty pompous if you speak for every SAFC supporter. The current system is a barrier.

How about making it easier for customers so If they decide on the day of a match that they can just turn up and pay by cash or card on a turnstile they can gain entry. 9,000 empty seats man

it’s really not rocket science.

Season tickets for kids cost £45. I pay for a ticket for my son's mate to keep him company. It's unbelievably cheap for kids.

The empty seats are nothing to do with cash turnstiles. When cash turnstiles were available, hardly anyone used to use them. If there had been a big demand for cash, they would still accept it. But there isn't.

I agree with a lot of your posts, but on this particular topic I do think you're barking up the wrong tree.

Fair enough and for what it’s worth I think you are a good poster.

However, you said ‘hardly anyone’ so there are people who do use. Why not cater for all of our customers?

Cash or card it’s not difficult

There's 9,000 empty seats because the stadium is huge. People can decide on the day whether they want to turn up unlike up the road so we are easier to watch than they are. The SoL was hardly ever full in the PL days other than for a couple of seasons under Reidy so I'm not sure why its such a big deal now.

As I said, charging a quid doesn't necessarily get kids who are desperate to go to the match in. It gets people in who aren't that arsed and get bored after 10 mins and start making a nuisance of themsleves and start annoying the regular supporters. I've seen this more times than I care to remember at Cup games when it's dirt cheap to get in and I know people who don't bother with those games anymore for exactly that reason.

Cash or card on a turnstile to cater for all fans whatever their ability to negotiate technology or heaven forbid anyone who may just decide on the day to come.

designated kid and family areas so not to annoy miserable twats who were never kids themselves.

Not rocket science

I think you've lost the plot here like

No doubt you'll be first to complain when our transfer budget is non existant because our gate reciepts are so small because we're charging 1000s of people a pound to get in!

I’ve lost the plot? I’m trying to grow the fan base which in turn increases merch sales, food contracts and these kids become then become adults and may decide to become supporters for life.

Hope no impressionsble kids sit next to you miserable fella it will put them off football for life.

You grow the fanbase by playing good, entertaining football and giving the support something to look forward to, not charging people a pound to get in! That's a surefire way to administration that is

Our gates are, on any normal measure, absolutely huge. They are underpinned by very reasonable season ticket prices. Some might argue they are too cheap.

I hope the owners are sensible when considering price increases for next season. Finances are going to be very tight for a lot of people over the next few years. First thing to go are discretionary spends.
