Sunderland will face Saudi Arabian opposition Al Shabab in Friendly (poll in Parsnip)

We have gone to Dubai for training maybe they were best quality opposition we could play? As stated if we were earning money from it yes I would have an issue. I’m differentiating between profiting from a regime and playing a game against people that happen to coke from that country. Are we against all Saudis now? Do we hate all Russian people? All people from Nigeria? Yemen? Shall I go on? It’s so so different and I’m a bit embarrassed how some are going on about it if I’m honest.
Maybe? If? Are?

You do realise that's exactly how the Saudis want it. If they can't brainwash (the mags) then divide.

You are being very niave.

You're still ignoring the link to the regime.
Not ignoring it just seeing it differently than you. If we are profiting from it then I take it back but I refuse to condemn a countries citizens for their leaders actions. If we did that we would be condemning a shit load of people

Is it not a coincidence that sartori is pictured meeting Saudi Arabia officials on the same day this is announced? Yes it was in his political role, but it's still a bit odd.
It's as much of a coincidence as when Methven (complete in a Sunderland T shirt) bumped into Sartori in Uruguay purely by chance isn't it?

Some people actually tried to claim that was the case on the basis that it wasn't the current season's training kit he was wearing.

Pure chance meeting.

Perhaps this is just a pre-cursor to your owners selling to whoever owns this Saudi club.

It would be hilarious if that happened.

You can be a wally at the best of times but it's really quite obvious how those things differ.
Agreed, the whole reaction is off the scale. It's completely different. Is it ideal? Probably not. The club should have read the room and thought how about we give this one a miss in fear of upsetting our fans.

It isn't about upsetting the fans imo, where are the ethics and morals at our club? Safc shouldn't be in Dubai in any case and should not be playing this saudi side. Circa 75% think the game should not happen, shame the vote isn't public as there's no doubt dozens of mags within those yes votes.

Yep already raised that.

They camel humpers will be in amongst that.

Why shouldn't we be in Dubai mate? We've been to Dubai a number of times over the years and I can't ever recall it being highlighted as an issue on here or elsewhere.
