Kicking right off

I walked past before the game when they were getting off. It was a load of normal people ffs. They were talking to some of our own fans.

And yes, I did see the lads walking back towards the ground along the road. And then smashing the windows. They must have either not been at the match or if they had, left the match early and walked all the way around the Hilton and Beacon and back up the road.

Not sure why I need to tell you all this like.

They’re little shits and something needs done. Just cause some people are willing to downplay (for what reason I don’t know) doesn’t mean we all are.
In fairness, the people I see downplaying it are the Cardiff fans posting on here, who were on the coaches. I’ll take their word for it as they’d be very well entitled to say it as it was. Rubberface getting all excited over it says it all really.

..and i'm entitled to say it as i saw it. I was there, you weren't.
Heard off a couple of people that this group of young uns don't even go to the match and they've been seen starting to gather outside the away coaches from early on whilst the match is in progress and nowhere near full time.

If this turns out to be true then it isn't really anything to do with SAFC and the club shouldn't be accountable for them, as it's just a group (30/40) of daft young local teens looking to occupy themselves for an hour or so.

We've got a reputation of being hospitable towards away fans so these people don't represent SAFC in any way, shape or form.

I'd imagine now it's been well documented NP will come down on them like a shot. One thing they are handy at is tackling football related trouble which is the reason why us and them up the road are always at the top of the banning orders league table!
Wrong. They go to the games.

The only time before this season it has had the potential to properly go off down there was Everton in the Cup.
Coventry at home this season I was walking about 10 feet behind a big fella, maybe 25, who was purpously banging into Cov fans stood by their coaches, then stopping and gesturing as if to say Haway then.

I think it might go big style down there this season. As I said earlier, the ante appears to be getting upped each match.

Be interesting if we got a home cup draw v a team with a 3k following.
Burnley had 3 k few weeks back, this is when the Milky Bar kid and his Gang Started

Stoke at home will be fun. They'll bring a large number of lads up for it.

I can only speak as I saw marra.

It’s bad crack and one of these days they’re going to come up against an away set of fans that will be more than up for it.

Yes it’s not on the scale of some violence of the past but it’s still got potential and the club should be looking to sort it.

Firstly, I wasn't at the match (bad planning, as am on holiday), so am only going on what was seen by a couple of posters on both sides.
It appears that the coach attacks, this time, did not get out of hand, due to the Cardiff supporter's coach drivers and older fans chasing the attackers off.
But, do Sunderland AFC and your genuine fans want a major incident to happen ?
Surely, the SAFC fans have meetings with the Club ? Why not flag up this growing problem to them and Northumbrian Police.
Your own fans (several on here) go home through this area and may/will get caught up in a potential serious flashpoint.
Sunderland is rightly proud of it being a big club, with great supporters who (generally) behave themselves.
Don't wreck this reputation - get the Club and the Police to sort it out...

I’m not sure if you’ve read any of my posts on this thread marra, but I’ve reported this to the club.

Unfortunately they’re not the greatest in getting back to people via email. I’ll chase it up later this week if I hear nothing else and will keep this thread posted.

Wrong. They go to the games.

Heard otherwise and if they are it appears that they must start to leave from about half time then as that is when these kids start gathering so I wouldn't call them Sunderland fans as such if they'd rather be hanging around there than being inside the stadium supporting the team.

NP will be all over them soon anyway. Been burgled? Victim of a robbery? Someone might come and see you and you'll get a crime number. Act up at the football and they'll come down on you like a ton of bricks!

There will be hell on down there. Every idiot going will be trying to get tickets and I suspect people will travel no matter what.

I fully expect the police to insist on a noon kick off and slash our allocation. If they stupid enough to let the game kick off at 3pm and give us 4,000+ tickets, the police will have one hell of a job to do

There's a liaison meeting this Thursday. Suggest you contact @DonaldDownTheWing or @Guinness Guzzler to see if they can get it raised then.
