Just been watching Shackleton's Captain on prime.

Not a film as such more of a documentary in a film style, with a lot of actual footage from the Australian film maker that went along.

The captain was a frank Worsley, a ridiculously talented individual who should have received the credit for the expedition. Him and the carpenter (mcneish sp?) where vital.

Well worth a watch, it's done very well and gives stories and a face to the whole crew.

7.5 to 8 out of ten for me.

Probably based on this book - Endurance eBook : Worsley, Frank Arthur: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store

77p for Kindle today. Well worth a read and to be honest at times I found it hard to believe what was happening and what they went through, but it is all true.

Memories of Murder.
Korean movie loosely based on true events.
By yer man who did Parasite.
On c4 player atm.
Very good
8.5/10

I watched Halloween Ends a few days ago, mainly because I watched the other two reboots. First one was canny with a few silly scenes, Kills was just utter bollocks and this one was awful. Really hoping they leave Halloween alone now... They won't but can only hope.

2/5

Might get the book I enjoyed the film documentary that much.

Cannot image how hard it must have been surviving. It must have been horrific sleeping on thawing ice and water in the spring in Antarctica and being permanently wet and freezing for years everyday.

Think it will be similar(ish) to the dead mountain dyatlov pass incident which was recommended by a poster on here, which I also enjoyed

Haven't read any of that beyond a brief look at the wiki so have wishlisted the Kindle book. 👍

Watched The Brothers Grimsby on Netflix the other day. My thoughts on the movie can be summed up in 2 words, f***ing hell.

Hope you enjoy it. Takes a bit to get used to the pacing and jumping between past and current timeline but once you get used to it, it's a good read.

I like the authors take on it as it tries to be as pragmatic as possible no daft spook stories etc.

Found the history of it interesting about what it must have been to be living in Russia at the time.

To be honest the 1 star review sold it to me. "Author has discounted the yeti theory"

The stranger
amzon prime

aussie film, Sean Harris in it who I love and also Joel edgerton, turned off after 30 minutes, litersly couldn’t understand a word the twats were mumbling. Fucked me right off,
first 30 mins were gash. 1/10 so far

Ticket to Paradise

Rom-Com with Julia Roberts and George a looney, usual type of film nothing you’ve not seen before but canny enough. 7/10

Black Adam - Full of action and entertaining, standard super hero movie. If you go the cinema don’t leave at the credits there is another scene. 7/10

I also gave up on this. After 40 minutes there was next to no plot development.

The Rental
2 couples think they’re being watched in an air bnb as their relationships wobble. Very good but fudges the ending, 7/10

The Edge
Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin are trying to survive in the wilderness after their plane crashes. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. 7.5/10

All quiet in the western front - netflix 2022 version.

4 young Germans lads go to the front in ww1. Powerful, haunting and showing the horrors of that war in the trenches. Ffs.

Brilliantly filmed and great performance.

A stunning but sad 10/10 for me.

3 Million died In that western front trenches. For 100’s of mtrs here and there over a few year.

The terrifier 2
5/10 (based on the fact I watched the whole thing and wasn't the worst actual film)
A killer clown kills people basically. Stomach churning blood and guts, no idea why people who get off on these sort of films, no idea why I watched the full thing either😂. Where's the terrifier 1
