It’s a impossible situation if people want VAR scrapped then they have to accept imo that mistakes will be made, mistakes that seem obvious after replays that were not with one look.

Trouble is all people involved in football including fans don’t and didn’t accept these mistakes.

People can’t have it always, they was nothing wrong with football before and ref mistakes were part and parcel of the game.

However people twisted and twisted again and clearly continue to twist in leagues without VAR as this board proves every week.

People and fans don’t actually want VAR, however at the same time they expect them not to make a fair proportion of mistakes despite all known evidence pointing to the fact they will

Whilst there is no guidance and a grey area as to what constitutes time wasting , I have to blame referees 100 per cent for something that is within their power but that they are unable
to do. That , quite simply is being able to add on the correct amount of time. Second half on Saturday. There was an injury stoppage of over two minutes. When Burnley scored their third goal it took over a minute for the restart. Presuming the other three goals soaked up two minutes that adds up to five minutes. Now I think the referee added five minutes on. Without the 4 Burnley goals and the injury stoppage would the referee dispensed with time added on ? No.
By my reckoning he should have added at least 8.

We need managers for a start to be unbiased / truthful when it comes to controversial incidents. We need referees to use their eyes when looking at the screen and not cave in to pressure. If a decision is not made within 30 seconds then the original decision stands

Just allow med staff on whilst game is still playing, same as rugby! They will soon get up rather than be down to 10! Obvs if serious stop play, gotta be worth a punt!

It's not just for the TV audience, although DRAMA is clearly part of the narrative. You have people on here all the time slating refs for making a wrong call, especially when it's a decisive one. Now you have people slating VAR for taking too long to make sure.

People have made their bed and now they have to lie in it.

Soon as the keeper receive the ball from the ball boy. Unsure how long, do some trials watching games and see whats realistic.

What would you do about it?

Sad as fuck and should result in harsher punishments. If a player gets booked for time wasting and they continue to do it, it would be great seeing the ref give a 2nd yellow rather than thinking the first serves as a good enough deterrent.

If there's one rule I'd like to see changed it would be the ball in play for X amount of minutes rather than the 90 minute rule

Something similar, but it's open to exploitation in other areas. They'd need to put multiple balls around the pitch (I think they just do it in the Premier League at the moment) and it'd need to be the same at each ground.

Standing next to a free kick should be an automatic team yellow and the ball be moved 10 yards further and defenders have to be 20 yards from the revised position.

How can you blame refs 100% when coaches are encouraging it, players are carrying out and the rules aren't stopping it?

And adding time on doesn't work like that, otherwise you'd be adding on 20 minutes every half.

I am blaming refs for failing to add time on for the obvious things like substitutions, goal celebrations and lengthy stoppages not the less obvious such as a goalkeeper taking time for a kick.

You don't add all that time on for those instances. It's never worked like that.
 
How about If a trainer comes on, not only does the player have to leave the field. He has to stay off for 5 minutes to make sure he is ok.

Yes. Player goes down, ref asks do you need treatment. Player says no, right we’re carrying on. If they do then they go off for a period. Unless it’s the result of foul play

It should ... surely if there is a two minute stoppage for an injury all of that should be added . Goal celebrations can in some instances take longer than years ago especially when players gather in a huddle on the byline and walk slowly back to their own half. Another thing that has crept into the game is the trend for players to congregate on the touchline when there is a stoppage. They have a drink, receive instructions and troop slowly back into position. If referee cannot or are not prepared to add time on then perhaps a rule change us necessary but in the meantime we are being shortchanged.
