I can't speak for the others, but Jarra and Hebburn were never Sunderland strong holds. They've always been more NUFC than SAFC.All gone, South Shields,Jarrow,Hebburn,Durham all mags now
Ryhope will never fallI'm up the road in Ryhope but I'll do my bit!
Aye Houghton and Hetton has a small populous of scruffs walking about in mag tops. Doubt they attend any games but do prop up the bar on a Sunday watching them on Sky, usually in the same stinking top they have been crawling about in all week.I only moved to houghton last year (November) .
I was stunned when A lad wearing a mag top walked past me.
Stunned .
Then when I was in Hetton I saw the odd one walking about .
Could t believe it the complete twats.
Surely they aren’t in easington lane ??!!!!!!

Aye but they will be bandwagon ones née doubtSeaham has mags , sad days .
yes, although it's a bellweather roundabout and with mags winning 2 games in 4 days, would expect it to fall.Do we still have Shiney Row roundabout? Strategically important

Mr Vaux, May I ask who are the chaps in your avatar, initials will do ?Sad to hear we lost Hetton as well
Is Shiney Row mainly Sunderland fans ?
Remember years ago there was always a good few mags there although on the odd occasion I go to the game on the bus I go through shiney and the bus gets packed with Sunderland fansProbably but everytime I've drove through I've seen shit loads of fat barcodes.
You may ask Mr Falcon, however as your profile on here is withhheld I have no indication of who you may or may not be,hence I can not divulge the initials of those worthy gentlemen.Mr Vaux, May I ask who are the chaps in your avatar, initials will do ?
Good point. Seems like there's a really strong urge to be seen amongst Newcastle fans, and just HOW MUCH they love their club. Proper ultras like.Aye but they will be bandwagon ones née doubt
Loads of mlf from Seaham
40000 at the match would suggest some households still contain a fair few!!incredibke support -9th biggest in the country I believe-I just think a lot of mlfs don’t feel the need to wear colours day in day out when not at the match
In Washington it all depends on where your family are from. People moved to Washington from surrounding areas, so why you get a mix.I still don’t find Washington (Gateshead end of it) that Mackem mind. Boldon to Seaburn I can tell more, on a stretch you can walk in 15 mins
I live Lambton/Ayton way. Loads of Sunderland round here. My kids school seems much more SAFC than NUFC. All but about 2 or 3 in my sons class support us.It’s a proper mix. As it’s still mainly a New Town, you’ve had people move in from Sunderland and Newcastle/Gateshead. Since I moved back from London I’ve noticed a lot more mackem twangs in the Galleries!
good question, I went with my dad till I was about 14 and then my mates for 40 years since then. I’ve never really thought about it, just wasn’t the thing to do. She’s not mobile enough now.
