I can see the logic of ECB wanting as much control over Jofra's work schedule as possible which a central contract gives them. Potts will get one next year. This is a huge year coming up for him, I suspect he'll take the chance.


Crawley I can see why everyone is questioning it. I knew he would though. He's obviously seen as "the project" given his age and glimpses he's shown

They've had control of him and basically ruined the lad. I'm sort of pleased for now Potts hasn't got one as they have a decent record of screwing up pace bowlers.

I'm still not sure we'll see him back to be honest, thought that for a while (mind you I said that about Wood numerous times). The amount of fast bowlers who have had serious injury/fitness issues in recent years under the care of the ECB is ridiculous. Happy for Potts to remain outside for now. Inevitably Potts will get his big contract soon

I was wondering why Moeen Ali and Rashid got one given they refuse to play Test cricket, or even 1st class cricket and then I remembered it's all about the white ball. TBH, those two don't need a contract to earn a crust, they can just join the international cricket circus.
