It’s ridiculous that people can’t simply disagree with Strauss proposals and say soo, while at the same time fully respect what he has achieved and earned respect in his career.
Instead lower themselves to calling him petty childish names but then again I am not surprised.

That’s what’s annoying me, blokes done so much for English cricket yet gets this stuff. Fair play to him for trying to do something for the game again. Like he always has, people won’t agree, I don’t agree with the majority of it, but everyone’s hate for the 100 being used for personal attacks on one of englands very best. Poor.
Only the few elite players get incredible money and not for very long. The vast majority of county players have modest salaries and only for a very short career. Once their contract/career is over their income falls off a cliff and they effectively have to start from scratch. They all join the “real world” eventually but your remark is brainless because if they all did what you suggest there would be no professional cricket and we’d all have nothing to watch except club cricket on a Saturday. Great idea!

Most people haven't, most people have stuck to his findings.
I've call him out for being an ECB employee and delivering a ridiculous report that is exactly what the ECB wanted.
I expect nothing better from him or them. But I am getting increasingly annoyed at people who would call themselves crickets fans, but are just shrugging their shoulders and accepting the death of the domestic game.

As for watching club cricket on a Saturday - what's wrong with that? I often go and watch it. I was watching Jonny Bushnell this season before he made his FC debut for Durham.
Imagine the impact that money would have on someone like Ben Raine, its life changing.

Looking at it again, how are none test hosts meant to make ends meet when ODIs are going to be in unpredictable and cooler September, with everyone back at work. 50 over games in April which is renowned for rain showers, and people at work etc. And a month with no real income in the height of summer
They have no chance of getting through because of the August issue, no FC cricket
if the idea is festival cricket with derbies or whatever then it needs more detail of what it entails and the money can bring it
the 50 over stuff while the 100 is on just about works for me, as its quite a lot of days cricket, just make the pitches as flat as possible to get the most play in.
some of it isnt a great standard but at least its actual cricket, why not get the minor counties in that or someit and make it really interesting.
I am not sure you can play proper CC cricket or Blast cricket when the 100 is on.

Some have though and should be embarrassed, the respect Strauss has is fully deserved.
And he simply deserves better than ridiculous name calling that some posters (not you) have called him, I am sure of it.
He has been given a very difficult task due to the mistake of having two short format competitions in the calendar.
I for one have sympathy for him trying to find room when there isn’t room.

He had a very easy task, and he delivered exactly what was required.
If this had really been a proper review, that's a different story. That's an impossible task.

The common sense view is under the remit he has, he has simply tried to fit everything in.
If anything he is trying too hard to please everyone with this friendly idea, don’t think that will work.

As I said a lot of the times I believe a short format tournament just one should be in the school holidays.
I like the idea of a proper window with the focus just on that similar to the IPL but would be better T20 than the hundred.
The idea that kids are going to get of their PlayStation to go along to a county championship game in the school holidays to talk about players knowing where their off stump is and what is a good leave!! I find ludicrous.
But they might just enjoy a fast paced colorful tournament in the school holidays.
Moving the county championship to more summer months and not in April is a good thing but not person has mentioned it.
The problem is and always has been trying to keep everyone happy, we don’t need two short format competitions!
No other country does that, but we do need one short competition in peak time with all the best players available.
It cant, its tied to the broadcasting deal.
