County Championship on Sky

brandon

Striker
They’ve announced they’ll be broadcasting a game next week, from the final round of Championship matches.

I would expect they’ll be at Old Trafford where Surrey are the visitors, but given events today in the title race it could well be all over by the end of this week :o

The CC is such a unique mint sport it needs to be on tv more, people would watch

Wonder if sky could produce it just with say 2 cameras or 3 like snooker

Like not show boundaries or catches outside the ring

that sounds like the live feed that counties make available these days. There are worse things to watch, in truth

It would be like watching football without them showing shots on goal

It would be a poor product to try and win fans over with like. It's better than nowt for dedicated fans but would be a fairly embarrassing show next to the coverage of IPL/16.4 etc
Aye, we're mugs for hoping K*nt might do us a favour

That's what you get for being a gobshite 😜

During that Covid season they had a game (might’ve been the Bob Willis final) on Sky where they simply used the County stream and dubbed their own commentary and graphics over the top.

Have to admit it was a tough watch.

Ever seen NFL Redzone?

They do 8 hours straight coverage with one bloke in the studio, cutting across all the games to catch up on the action. Obviously a different kind of sport and very different production values, but it's probably the best single live sport show in the world.

Upgrade the cameras a bit, or even have one featured game and constant highlights form the rest. I reckon that could work.

I’d love to watch but as the ECB in their wisdom have scheduled the games Monday to Thursday I’ll be at f***ing work.

Is there a reason why they’ve done this and not had the games running over a weekend?

I've suggested that before think it would work really well with cricket

Yes, big NFL fan (and all American Sport in general).

It’s what Soccer Saturday should be. BT Sport are halfway there with their ‘European Goals Show’.
I am just wondering how cheap they could do it

Cheap as chips. As I understand it, the cameras most counties use are just your billy basic CCTV cameras that loads of people get on their houses now, linked to an internet feed. Obviously the graphics will take a bit of doing IT wise but the installation won’t even come to a grand as a one off payment I’d say.
Looks like they’re showing Surrey. What the actual fuck for man? Yeah let’s show a game with nothing riding on it. Utter morons.

That’s a massive disappointment.

Not the first time they’ve done something like this either, I think @GordonMuchallNo1Fan alluded to it elsewhere - they could’ve covered the relegation battle or the battle for promotion in Division Two. Instead they’ve picked a dead rubber. Wankers.

Classic sky ffs   . Some cracking end of season possibilities to pick from which makes for a good advert for the county championship. It's nice to see Durham could also be spoilers.
