He started out as a general science communicator covering all sorts of topics.

As part of his introduction to astronomy series of lectures he did a short video debunking the whole flat earth theory.

To his amazement, seemingly the whole of the flat earth fraternity then descended onto his website to try to take him apart.

So, 'because they were very rude', he responded with a full length debunking video that has now topped 11m views.

Almost overnight he went from a relatively niche science educator to a youtube phenomenon with in excess of 2m subscribers.

Sci Man Dan does a good YouTube channel debunking the flat earthers too

He does and I do like Dan's work, but Professor Dave's takedowns are another level. They are superbly researched and his presentation is impressively succinct.

Obviously easier to do convincing HD graphical manipulation than let off a balloon with cameras attached
