I think there's room enough for a space thread and this one because comments like the following deserve a thread of their own -

So, given that you have established beyond all doubt claimed that there is only one direction, North, lets say I build a circular railway track and have an engine pull a carriage, it would actually be pushing it in a straight line, even though it would clearly be pulling it around in a circle? Or are you just pushing my leg?
