When the Scum earned their moniker

Obviously there's many reasons to call them it now, but am I right in thinking it was the press that used it back in the day when they got up to their pitch invasion antics to try and stop games? I'm sure I've seen the front pages before.
I vaguely remember a back page headline about them being "Scum". May have been away at Tranmere during Bobby Moore's minutes silence (92 ish) and they were chanting through it.

Although there's this too, which made me chuckle.

I'm sure there was a couple. May have been posted on here before years ago.

Daily Star knew.
