Yeah I actually completely agree with all that you're saying, I should've said expecting promotion. The team is extremely exciting with so much potential, if that potential gets unlocked we could fly.

I just can't be arsed with people kicking saying Mowbray has failed if we end up mid table because AN left us in 5th position. They're the ones I was referring to about being thick.
 

To be honest I was more scared of a so called name being appointed but we have someone more reliable and experienced at this level. Some of the names mentioned were never going to accept the job such as Dyche.

I think an important thing with Mowbray, as opposed to Manning or whoever, is that he knows the division and the other teams' strengths and weaknesses. In that sense, he can hit the ground running.
Having worked with Harvey, he could also be able in a position to identify 2-3 players who he rates and are not in other teams. If we could pick up an Evans or Baath for a small outlay, it would help us consolidate.

Has there been any news on backroom staff?

I can’t say if I’m either thrilled or disappointed because what the fuck do I know about selecting football coaches. I just wish the fella well and I’m glad it’s been done quickly

All we really have are opinions whether biased or otherwise. As SAFC supporters all we can do is trust the judgement of the powers that be and give managers a chance.

Most SAFC fans' initial gut reaction on hearing Mowbray's name was disappointment, not the name we were looking for.

The bright side is he has a solid enough Championship record and realistically a couple of seasons stabilising in this league is probably all right.

Not many reasons to be hugely enthusiastic but at least we haven't had weeks of delay in naming a replacement so if he's any good we should see the benefit immediately

Maybe he’s a Mick Buxton (but maybe without the f***ing awful last stretch iirc) and he’ll be followed by a Peter Reid. I’d be ok with that. 😀

I’d be even better if he proved his critics wrong and was successful and well liked by the end of his tenure. So I wish him well.

Couple of other important things for me …
He’s been watching us for weeks so knows how we are playing already including strengths /weaknesses -hit the ground running hopefully
Lives local as well I believe so it may suit long term if he is a success -stability is good for both parties on that front.

That sounds positive marra-especially as some were saying they had a “fall out “.
Evans has been superb this season(a real leader ) and to hear that is genuinely good

I hope Mowbray can put an end to the indiscipline issue created by AN.
If he can do that we can establish ourselves in the top half no problem.
 
Can't be arse to search if this has been posted or not. A VERY interesting read about Mowbray's footballing philosophy and why he's highly respected by the top managers in this country. Sounds miles away from the dinosaur people have tried to tar him as:

That Blackburn message board doesn’t make great reading like.
But a few saying if you want mid table solid championship, he’s your man. After the last few years we’ve had, I’ll 100% take that and build for the future.
I thought we’d of got that under Neil but the bald bastard jumped ship.
