No matter what your fans think of him, whether good bad, or indifferent, he's your new manager so the best you can do is get behind him and the squad he's taken on.
If the effort and commitment are there then go with the flow.
The minimum requirement for you this season is to make sure you avoid playing with the relegation candidates, which you should do, and once that is achieved over the best part of the season then see where you are in the league to see what hope you have of nudging wherever the rest of the season can take you under him.

He has to be given a chance if you're clear of any relegation issues by January.

This is I think where I am, and i think it’s fair overview of the position we’re in. It seems the club isn’t in a position off the field to grow much currently, so avoiding relegation may be the best we can hope for & with Mowbray im hopeful we can avoid ‘typical’ Sunderland moments…
 
Think the biggest factors of promotion last season were Batth, Pritchard and Stewart.

Who were already at the club before Neil.

Yes he galvanised the squad to a certain extent but we have lost an ex Preston and Norwich manager who is only ever going to be championship level to Stoke , and gained an ex Blackburn and Boro manager.

1.5ppg would be enough for 8th place in each of the last 3 seasons, 9th the 2 seasons before. As a newly promoted side that would be a very good finish.

Use his 2 years to get us stabilised and perhaps push for play offs, send him upstairs and bring a younger coach in to push us on

Seems a good fit for the club in our current situation. He’ll get us stable in the division and allow us to build a squad able to compete for promotion over the next couple of years, not sure he’s the man to take us up but will be happy with stability for a while. Good luck Tony

I’ve got no issues with this he’s a very experienced manager and footballing man.
He also fits the model and there should be no major disruption to the way we play which we all seem to have been happy with.
The best of luck to the man.
 
Like it or not he is our new manager.

I wasn't to keen, but now he has be given the job I'll give him my full support.

Let him prove what he can do and judge him on that.

Quite positive about this. With the age of the squad an experienced head is needed. Plus what I've read about his character and tactics also seems very positive.
