Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

I feel he'll be a decent fit for us tbh. We have a more than capable team. Add a manager who knows the league well add a few more players and i expect us to continue as we are. Mowbray of similar ilk to AN with more experience.

Grayson, Parkinson, Mowbray all plodders that should have never been considered for Sunderland. We’re bottom 3 under Mowbray… hasn’t got a clue about modern football.
Let's have the old wager. A sum that you're comfortable with. We won't finish in the bottom 3, I say. You say we will. The money goes to charity. I'd suggest St Benedict's Hospice, but I'm open to persuasion.

Suggesting someone is 'steady' is hardly 'licking his ring'
Not everyone is focusing on his promotions - they're actually more concerned with his attacking, high press style of football, his ability to develop youth talent, the fact big prem clubs trust him with their loan players like Harewood-Bellis, Harvey Elliot, Adarabioyo and the fact he finished 8th, 6 points of the play offs in this very same league last season.

It's not a terrible appointment. It's not exciting or overwhelming, it's a steady pair of hands for team that's just spent 4 years in league one in their first season back in the Championship in 5 years.

I'm sure you'll be the first to hold your hands up though if we have a decent season?

What is a decent season?

I quoted the person who stated that he got Blackburn promoted.
I was reply to this and you’ve changed the narrative.

I'll answer it for you - He hasn't - In fact it goes completely against Mowbray's career to date
I'm honestly interested where his info comes from to form that opinion.

I have read loads from other posters l, sources etc about his positive playing styles, developing young players so an alternative would give balance

And the reason we did that is because we appointed the league one equivalents of Mowbray like parkinson and Johnson. Just mediocre plodder managers than aren't going to achieve anything of any note.

He's got a better pedigree than Neil as both a manager and a player. Let's give him a chance and see where it leads.

He's not fashionable, but he's well regarded in footballing circles and he's generally well regarded by fans of his previous clubs too.

Has Neil ever managed an Old Firm team when you are guaranteed to win lots of games? I know he was quickly given the boot for being shite there but I'm sure you can understand what I'm saying.

He managed Celtic for 45 games out of 793. Stripping that out, his win rate drops by a massive 0.6%. He wasn't there long enough to sway the statistics.

I remember fans singing Parky Parky give us a wave etc think it was when we beat Tranmere, if TM gets off to a good start the vast majority will be behind him. This place man.
