Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

21 years of management as he's achieved pretty much nothing in the game, why is this suddenly going to change at us.

We were told the same thing about Grayson being a safe pair of hands as well.

We need someone to come in that can grow with the club and go on to bigger and better things, something Mowbary will never be able to do and his record proves that
We just had the perfect manager for a long term build and he lasted 6 months. Managers aren't around long term like that anymore, whoever we appoint very likely won't be in the job by August 2024.

Neil never achieved much in his years of management, but he turned out ok

So we just appoint some bang average never achieved anything of note in 21 years and accept it, because someone might not be here in a few years. FFS

I think he'll do a job for us, certainly wasn’t my first choice but I think he’ll get something out of the lads we have. We’ll finish between 10th-17th imo. Try and nick a playoff spot next season.

Since when was getting promoted to the premier league "never achieving anything of note"?

Nah we appoint someone who wants to play the style of football that will suit our young squad and get the best from our best players. The stuff I've read suggests Mowbray likes attacking football played on the deck, should suit the likes of Pritchard, Clarke, Neil, Stewart.

He has achieved promotions btw and just last season he finished 8th with Blackburn.

Right now we need someone who can keep us in this division.
Absolutely.
It sounds like a pragmatic appointment.

Will it be exciting? Almost certainly not.

Can Mowbray get a similar tune out of these players? Who knows? Probably not.

Will we see charismatic press conferences and post match interviews? No

But maybe it buys the club some time and he ought to be able to keep us in the division.

I guess the frustration is that it looked like neil was building something really good and for him to get a top job, would likely involve him taking us up again. Blown out of the water in a flash. Not Mowbray’s fault of course.

I Will give the bloke a chance, had a look on youtube for his past interviews and he did a very good one with a local boro bloke, Mowbray comes across as a very humble, hardworking north eastern guy, brought up well, who loves his football and likes to get along with players, fans and staff. The other day I didn't think he was the right choice but after watching that interview and seeing the positive posts about him on here I think he will do very well for us to help us kick on.
