Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

Club were put in a tough spot. Poaching a manager like Manning at this stage is no better than what Stoke have done and I understand any hesitancy. We may very well have put out feelers for the likes of Dyche and Bielsa and been turned down. Hopefully Mowbray keeps the ship afloat and in a year or two we can upgrade.
That, in a nutshell, is my problem. We are appointing someone who everyone expects is only for a year and that we'll be looking to upgrade on him in a year or so. That is not long term planning. Why not appoint someone who you hope can build for the next 5 years? He is so short termist and that is not we were led to believe was the model.

I think actually it is far less likely. He's a man who got 8th place and has a decent squad to play with. However, the direction of the club has gone from progressive to somewhat old school. When you just choose what is unemployed and available it means you are not going for what you think is the best. It means Speakman's fabled succession plan was an utter lie.

His only relegations have been when he's taken over lost causes in Blackburn and Coventry late in the season. Both times he was promoted the following year. I've been researching, He's not what people think he is.

They didn't like, Alex Neil was an excellent coach by all accounts. Mowbray is not a great coach, luckily he will have zero input on transfers or contracts
Adam Armstrong, Ben Brereton Diaz, Harvey Elliott and Jarrod Branthwaite would say otherwise.

He’s not a very exciting appointment but a safe pair of hands for a couple of years. He plays the same formation(s) as Neil did and has a decent record developing young players.

I’m not particularly excited but I’m not ready to jump off a tall building like some on here.

We need to make progress as a club and a solid mid table finish after 4 years in league one and having developed some good young players on the way would be progress in my eyes.

Can Mowbray deliver that, yeah I reckon he could……could he go again after that and deliver play offs/promotion I’m less certain of that if I’m honest.
This my exact issue. Yes, we need to stay-up this seasom but I'm convinced that will be the case from what I've seen so far.
I'm looking at next summer and enthusiam round the place really starting to wane. Its proper Mick Buxton gear, this.

If we do any decent business before the window shuts, I reckon we could make the playoffs this season.
I'm usually a bit pessimistic regarding SAFC, but I think we're in with a chance.
Well, judging by the way we’ve started the season, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. Squad wise we’re miles off & actually getting promoted would be a bit of a disaster on the pitch, we need to build properly. But aye, nowt on the pitch so far in this league to be scared of. Hopefully Speakman continues to get recruitment right & Mowbray can carry on the work & togetherness Neil left.

Safe pair of hands, plenty of championship experience, likes to give youth a chance. A sensible appointment. There's plenty on here who won't be happy no matter who we got in.

"Going nowhere under this ownership" is absolute bollocks too, we've just been promoted and have the most exciting squad we've had in a long time. We're on the up, but expecting us to push for promotion in our first season back in the championship is mag levels of delusion.

Don't think it says anything new about the club's ambition. We know staying in this division would be seen as success.

Feels a bit like a Parkinson appointment, but suppose we'll see how it goes.
