Football Insider say it's Mowbray.

I suggested yesterday you went outside and pissed in the wind as you posted common sense, can I suggest that again please

Certain sections are demanding more ambition, they want it NOW. This is no time for your sensible posts

Just out of curiosity when should we be ambitious?

Shall we just settle for survival for the next decade?

Or could we use the feel good factor from last season, relatively small debt and group of young exciting players as a catalyst to kick on?

It saddens me how many of our fans think we should just be happy with survival. We’ve shown so far this season we can more than hold our own.

Fancy us to go down now tbh
I think actually it is far less likely. He's a man who got 8th place and has a decent squad to play with. However, the direction of the club has gone from progressive to somewhat old school. When you just choose what is unemployed and available it means you are not going for what you think is the best. It means Speakman's fabled succession plan was an utter lie.

Club were put in a tough spot. Poaching a manager like Manning at this stage is no better than what Stoke have done and I understand any hesitancy. We may very well have put out feelers for the likes of Dyche and Bielsa and been turned down. Hopefully Mowbray keeps the ship afloat and in a year or two we can upgrade.

He comes across as a right dour bloke tbf, but his record shows that demeanour isn’t necessarily replicated on the pitch.

Not entirely sure who people actually want. As has been said, Neil wasn’t exactly considered an inspiring choice at the time….

I was horrified when he was first mentioned.
Having calmed down, read about him and thought about it, I'm OK with it. He's not the person I thought he was.

It's an easy, safe and probably cheap appointment, but Mowbray's a decent pro with great experience who's been close to the club for some time.

Let's give the bloke our support and a fair chance.
I made a post at the weekend where I’d looked at the 92 league managers in place at the minute. 9/92 had been in charge for more than 4 years & 15 more than 3.

If we’re going purely on statistics, it’s likely a new manager would get 3/4 years max before a change, for whatever reason. If it’s longer, they’re obviously doing a good job.

If we break it down & look at it like that, can Mowbray establish us in this league & get us to the point of being able to challenge for the playoffs in 3/4 years. I’d say it’s a decent chance then it’s somebody else’s turn to see if we can kick on again after that.

He's a safe pair of hands, which is what we need right now. Solid Championship manager who fits the attacking football/develop young player aims. and can start to build on the foundations built so far. We need to play a long game here.
Blackburn decided to go in a different direction. Not sure why we are going for their past.
Why not someone like Manning who the team can grow with?

Mick Buxton was a safe pair of hands as was Parkinson

Did not realise it had been confirmed when writing my other post in the other thread.

Certainly not the worst appointment that you could have made but understand why some of you are underwhelmed - we were too. He does have some strengths, but he is not the type to get you up while it is unlikely he will take you down either.

What makes Neil better than Mowbray? Curious on thoughts
Neil has achieved 3 promotions with clubs and played expansive football. Mowbray achieved 2 promotions with big resources, he has only ever previously worked as a manager as opposed to head coach
