NUFC/Sportswashing - Summer 2022

They need to hope Isak hits the ground running or they are in for a bang average season imo.
Nope. A load of lads’ fans were all over this thread last week declaring them a top 6 side now. That was even before the Isak signing.

The bigger the expectation the greater the disappointment which in turn brings the frustration. For all the millions they have spent I personally don’t think they are as good as some like to make out, but time will tell

Dammit Luke I said you lot have been tamed by the evil empire 😄

That said this is the perfect example of how North East sports reporter is the easiest or hardest job in football.

If you keep saying sweet nothings thousands of loud thick Geordies will tell everyone you’re class and “really get us”.

If you say anything even slightly controversial (ie Sunderland are bigger than Stoke) they start howling and broadcasting how shit you are.

Twitter is horrendous on a good day but when you add sportswashed morons it can be downright toxic.

An odd comment to make when we’re currently 7th
Aye, because final league tables always take shape after 4 games. The comment was made after you severely laboured to a draw against a side that haven’t won since April. The comments declaring you top 6 contenders after throwing away a 3-1 lead were far more odd.

Are all those declaring Newcastle a top 6 side a week ago still adamant they’re that level?
Very early days still, what I've seen so far of them if they can keep the 4 or 5 very good premier League players that they have imo the likes of pope, tripper, ASM, Wilson, then they could finish around 7th to 10th

If they get key injuries to those players they will finish bottom half
