I can see it from here as a job where he will have more backing, good and local owners, probably a better squad (not that you could tell last week!) but I think it’s fair to say that it’s true on paper, and that the geography might work for him.

I thought you couldn't spend because you were fucked by FFP? We're already outspending you this summer and by quite a lot
Hope you go down. Hope you never recover. Hope you can't sign a player ever again thanks to FFP. Stoke have been added to Newcastle and Coventry on the list of clubs I'd laugh my tits off at if they went bust.

Why? All they've done is go after someone they think will do the best job for them and someone who was easily brought in at that

Stoke never employ an out of work manager. They always approach a manager from another club/team. Rowett, Jones, O'Neill and now us. It just seems like an alpha move to show how rich there are and as in the the first 3 managers mentioned it generally doesn't end well

And? He's clearly been tapped up ffs. And by a club in bother with FFP at that.

" losing a valued and much loved player or manager" - no fuckers died but you can still go and fuck off!

Stoke being alpha.

f***ing nothing club.

That's against the laws of the game, we let him have a clause in to talk to other clubs. Nobody (except whoever let him have that clause) has done anything wrong. Stoke have done fuck all wrong in this case, it's all on our club and Neil and the contract we had between us

Best manager we have had in years but we are still a basket case off the pitch and it seems like he can't be chewed on with it.
this pretty much sums it up, sadly, coupled with the fact he's been offered double your money, which we wouldn't match despite getting us promoted and making a great start to the season

Hi. I'm a Stoke fan and all I can say is sorry that it looks like we are poaching Neil! I don't know what to make of it.
My first reaction (and still now) is to be totally honest and say that I don't know why he would swap you for us! I love my club, but I know that you are a bigger club than
we are and you are on the up where we are just treading water! You can pull in 40000 or so fans and we have about 20000 regularly. Maybe 5 years ago when we were in the Prem and had much bigger appeal, I could understand it more, but it seems a strange one now. If it's purely about a bigger contract/money that we will give him then I'd be slightly worried about his reasons for coming - but who knows!
He may well be what we need as we have a very good squad potentially who should be challenging - but we've been absolute dog shite for the last 5 years!!
I feel for you though. Bizarrely, this was how we felt when Steve Cotterill left us many years ago to become Assistant Manager for you guys for those of you who remember that. Football eh!!!

Shit happens. Stoke are ok. Greed is universal. Bye.
