AN Press conference - CANCELLED

Sometimes you can read between the lines ;)

It may well be a big difference of opinion over what was agreed when he was appointed with regards to recruitment. Neil perhaps wanted a bit more experience and it either hasn’t been delivered or pursued.

If he’s been given permission to speak to them I’m now leaning towards a position of replacing him anyway.
If he's on a 12 month contract, can we really stop them talking?

If it's any consolation, when playing football manager 22, my hotshot assistant, Alex Baptiste, always got headhunted by clubs, I always told him I wanted him to stay but allowed him to talk to clubs.

He told me he respected my understanding and always came back. This was at Exeter too if that helps

This press conference won’t happen. There is no way the club will put someone else in front of the press and Neil won’t want to answer questions either. It will be cancelled
Alex Neil is good at telling reporters that he knows nothing about what they are asking and that they seem to know more than him. If he’s staying, even if there has been talks with Stoke, he’ll act like the reporters are speaking Chinese to him.

They would need to release a statement then surely

Best place the club has been in both footballing and positive mentality our fans..

Basically gone instantly especially if we don’t get a result tomorrow. the sol is going to be toxic

An optimistic take on things might be this.

Stoke have asked for permission to speak to AN and it’s a condition of his contract that he can speak to clubs who make an approach this way.

The talks haven’t taken place yet.

Once Stoke revealed their interest the owners here schedule an emergency meeting with AN this morning in order to thrash out a new deal to ensure he stays.

No idea what’s going on but here’s hoping..

The problem is mate, a lot of the above can take place behind the scenes without anyone knowing. If Neil wasn’t interested, the club would said something
